My Kind of Bib

The bib above can be found on classypals.com. Plus, it is on Amazon, too.  There are men's styles.

 My Kind of Bib

I don't have a bib yet, do you? Now, some days I do need one. What I like about this one is it is over 30" long. Of course, at the dinner table, I have no problems. Sitting in my recliner is another thing. Also, I use a dishtowel across my chest. If I sit at a table, I have no problems and do not use or need a bib.

This is just something short for Saturday since I know everyone is busy cooking, decorating, wrapping or shopping.

  1. My Mom could have used one of those while she was here. That would really save on laundry.

    1. Belinda,
I can imagine how it would save on laundry. Sitting in my chair, holding my bowl of cereal, once I actually spilled it on me. But, none got on the chair. Even a long bath towel with a clip for around the neck would be some help even if not waterproof.

  2. I always, always cook in an apron. And sometimes I forget to take it off and eat with it on.

The women's bibs are pretty dang cool, but I don't know if my mother would have liked them. She probably would have scorned them as "Dumb bibs for old people! And I'm not an old people!" LOL

I'm not impressed AT ALL with the men's bibs. They look kitschy and babyish to me. The one with the crossed golf clubs? Yeesh. And the ones that look like formalwear? Double Yeesh. I've get to see an old man in assisted living wearing a frigging tux, y'know?

    1. Sue,
I suppose some older people would like them and some not. When I get old, I probably won't like anyone treating me like a baby. Right now, yep, I can be messy sitting in recliner.
The tux and something denim were all I looked at. But, if a guy is older and messy, he might welcome help. I don't know. I will look again.

    2. Sue, your comments about old people made me think of my momma. She was in the nursing home and refused to go to the dining room for any meals. She said, "There are too many old people in there." But the kicker is, she was older than most of them.

    3. My 94-year-neighbor said she would do whatever when she got old.

  3. PS It's generous of you to assume so, but some of us were NOT cooking/decorating/wrapping/shopping. Some of us slept til 11am (I am getting over a vicious, long cold) lazed around, took a shower, and then pulled together dinner.

I should be a lot busier today, but screw it, y'know? LOL!

    1. Sue,
Maybe some people will be busier than others? I just hate a winter cold. I do hop you get better soon.

  4. When my Daddy began eating in his recliner I took old soft bath towels, cut a curve into the short end, trimmed the edges with bias tape in order to tie the bib around his neck. These "bibs" worked well.

When John began eating in his recliner I went to Target to pick up some hand towels or small bath towels to turn into bibs. While looking at the merchandise a woman and I struck up a conversation where she gave me a wonderful idea. She suggested ordering the chain clips that are used in dental offices! I ordered a set on Amazon and that worked out well!

    1. Janet,
I have heard about using the chain clips to make bibs. It sure beats sewing.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
