Amazon Prices

Sunday night/Monday morning, I ordered a Stihl mini chainsaw, 6". Tommy will use it on a dogwood tree that is half dead. A larger tree fell on it and broke it. The story is hazy. Half the tree is short and bushy, whereas the other half is spindly and lives. Only one half has flowers. It is ridiculous looking. I have no idea how much it would cost to have mower prune it away. But, we have got this.

Saturday, I looked it up. The price was something like $1,200. You read that correctly. This was the cheapest chainsaw I found. Others were upward from there. I have no idea what happened to Amazon. I had two things in the cart. Both were gone.

The chainsaw was $59, and I got a discount making it $40. So, we don't have to use this much to get our money's worth. He is strong enough to handle it. It is cordless/battery operated.

Sunday, we returned a blouse that did not fit, bought paper towels, three 70-sheet college ruled spiral notebooks. Looked for the Stihl chainsaw at Lowe's. Publix--milk for both of us, grapes, two more bags of coleslaw bogo.

We rarely use paper towels, so this 6-pack should last a year or more. The other day, we had no paper towels, so I had Tommy heat the last chicken nugget on a Kleenex that he folded. Well, the Kleenex was black and the burn smell lingered for hours! He did heat it for way too long. It was like a rock. We often used just a quarter of a paper towel. One day, I had him microwave chicken nuggets on a dishcloth. That seemed weird. But, it worked and we could wash the dishcloth.

In the afternoon I cut up two bell peppers, one bag for freezer and a lesser amount for the refrigerator. Then, while I napped, he ate. He said he used some tomato, onions I had chopped, and bell peppers to make a salad. He will eat things if I have it all cut and ready. Or, he will make a wrap if we have wraps.

I am still working, albeit slowly, on putting away stuff dug out when we decluttered. With the lamp in the kitchen, I can even see well enough in the kitchen to wash up the Tupperware I bought. I know there is nothing dirty on it to wash off, but I cannot stand and do things in the dark. Call me spoiled, but I like light.

The forecast this next week is rain every day. Hopefully, some of those days will just be spotty or not for our location. I have things I need to do!

Dinner--chicken, slaw. I will probably have slaw every day this next week, and that is a good thing.

Did you look on Amazon and find exorbitant prices on Saturday? I kept trying again and again to determine if I had the right Amazon. This $40 chainsaw was over $1200.

Anger Can Raise Heart Attack Risks

When my brother died, people asked how he died. My answer was always--He died from cigarettes, beer, and anger. He had been angry for thirty years, and I don't blame for his anger. I suppose according to the article below, I was correct.

After I read this article, I explained it to Tommy and told him--no more anger in this house. He is always raring up and berating me. I told him that stopped today. He gulped and said, "Okay!" So far, so good.

Science shows how a surge of anger could raise heart attack risk (yahoo.com)

I know it is not so simple as eliminating anger, but that and good medical care and obeying doctors surely will go a long way to living longer and in better health.

Proper sleep is necessary, too. And, I am not getting proper sleep. Last night, I did not sleep at all, not until 5 pm and then only four hours

We went out to grocery shop as we collected the ads. It took us three hours, then I slept from  about 5:39 until 10 pm. Tommy had leftovers--chicken, greens, and pork and beans. I ate junk, something I do when I am exhausted.  Tomorrow, I will rectify that. Tommy is eating often and right foods. I have not had to encourage him even once to eat the type food he should.

I do believe he is hangry and does not know how to self-control, has not learned his symptoms of diabetes. Even the pharmacist said she gets irritable when her blood sugar drops. Tommy does not believe me and won't look at himself. Maybe he will now.

The 24" fluorescent light over the sink quit. We bought a new tube, but that did not help. So, we may end up with new fixture rather than spending money on ballast. There is no light in the kitchen other than a 40-watt light over the stove! It is like it was when I came here light-wise.

I barely could get on a little short stool, and reaching to measure was horrendous. Tommy cannot step up far enough to get on any stool, step, or curb. I told him to ask young guy down the street we needed help. He asked him and brought home a guy over 6 feet tall to replace the bulb. It either needs a starter or ballast. Ballast will be the price of a new, non-fluorescent fixture.

There is another light fixture in the kitchen but has been broken for about 25 years. So, it is a dungeon. I also have a new light fixture for the dining room, too. So, maybe Tommy will agree to let electrician install three fixtures.

Progress!

Do you have a situation or person who causes you to become angry or becomes angry and lets loose on you?

Valentine Gnome and Frustration

                                                               Valentine Gnome

How about another cute dessert? I would make this.

TV's Funniest Phrases Seinfeld had #1, #21, and #50. "No soup for you." Did you find your favorite in the list?

This amazon box had a cell phone battery in it and bubble for cushioning. Is that wasteful? I received an order yesterday that had three items, one in a breakable bottle. Each item was in a plastic bag, no box.  I wonder who makes the decision on which method of packing to use.

I am not sure why I did not post this above on Sunday. I looked at the post up and saw Sunday, so I thought I had already posted.

I am not sure what the alignment above is doing, so I will ignore it.  I had little sleep Saturday and Sunday night. Dogs next door sounded like we were being invaded by wolves or something dangerous on Sunday night/Monday morning.

This afternoon I wasted a beautiful day in Lowe's getting no help. I had definite things in mind. Nothing panned out. I left empty-handed and disappointed and exhausted.

1-I wanted something to seal cold air coming in around the bathroom window. Well, I was shown something to shut in the window, something to squirt in the crack, and told to get a piece of plastic and tape over the window. Then, get a window sealing kit.

The space leaking is between the frame of window and tile. There is no way to raise the window unless I take it out. They were confused and could not figure out why the window frame would not raise. The draft stuff to squirt never works for me. I am either too stupid or clumsy to get it where it goes and how it goes. It would look so lumpy and nasty. I was told there is nothing to roll in a string to put in cracks.

I know I have seen something that looks like play doh that can be rolled into a long piece like a snake and then it can be pressed into the space.

They tell me to just squish the foam into the space of 1/8 inch.

2--No one could show me the Kohler commode that was installed. It is not round in front and elongated. It sort of is triangular with a bit of rounding in the front. So, need to find out about that. There is nothing about my bottom that fits this commode I have newly installed!

3--I want a new light to go beside the front door. I would like one that had an outlet for plugging in electrical things since Tommy has no outdoor electrical outlet. The guy did not even investigate, just told me that nothing like that is made.

4--I wanted weed killer for St. Augustine Grass. It was up too high, so I just left it and did not ask for help. I would have had to have driven halfway across the store. I may just order it.

5--I passed a display of new seeds. I asked the guy if he could get me some short carrots. He pulled off the top of the case where the carrots were and spilled about a hundred packages of seeds or more. He picked them up and put them willy-nilly back into the case and declared they did not carry short carrots. I know better, but I went on.

6--floor cabinets--nothing there that was metal. Guy only muttered a bit.

7--Security door glass and metal type for front door. Guy pointed in their direction. There was no one to talk with and there were no prices.

Before I actually got to talk with anyone and had been on the cart five minutes, the cart died. Someone brought me a cart. The guy dragged the dead cart out of the way, and an hour later it still sat, not being charged.

Can you see why I am frustrated and exhausted after not getting much sleep all weekend?

A few minutes ago, I tried to walk to the kitchen and could barely stand to get dinner on my plate. I struggled back to my chair and Tommy heated it and brought to me. I have no idea what is wrong with my flank, maybe my kidney. Plus, there is a knot under my ribs in front on the same side. Whatever is happening, I at least need to be able to get to the bathroom. Last night, I was very wobbly getting up to go.

Today was beautiful, a deep blue sky with some clouds that did not dim the brilliance of the sun.

We are watching Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, so I need to get back.

Do you find that people working in some home improvement stores have no idea about the business in which they work?
