Toothbrushes

We all have them. Most people have more than one, maybe one in a purse or glove compartment, one in a suitcase, one never opened, waiting in line for use.

My favorite toothbrush that I received from my dentist was discontinued. The dental office did not know why. I took it upon myself to discover why. It turns out the machine that made the GUM toothbrush I loved broke. They were going to fix it. Nope. Six months later, the company decided not to repair the machine, just discontinue making my toothbrush. RATS!

The dental office found another one they recommended and to give to patients. It hurts my gums, but they had given me two, so Tommy got those, even the one I tried. I read about another one at CVS--Oral B Sensi Soft. It is wonderful. Tommy bought me two to try. They are over $9/2.

I found the same thing on Amazon for a little over $4. One tore up when I stuffed it back into the packing. So, I ordered two more. Then, I promptly lost the package I bought at CVS.

Today, I saw a little bit of a white plastic bag peeking from between a couple of white envelopes. It was the lost toothbrushes I bought from CVS. Okay, I have about five new, never-used toothbrushes.

I have two old ones like I like in Tommy's bathroom drawer. I took it. He did not care since any toothbrush suits him. Then, I found another two of the GUM toothbrushes in my stash of extra stuff. Then, I found a used one in the glove compartment in a toothbrush holder.

I think there are also about 8 toothbrushes in active use. It is ridiculous, I know. It just happened somehow. I never have had more than two toothbrushes in use before now. They were already open when I counted them. I have one by my chair, one at the sink, and one by my bed. They all three travel between locations. lol. Silly toothbrushes.

Years ago, I gave all three children, sil, dil, and four grandchildren free toothbrushes. Free to me or about a quarter apiece. I don't find those bargains now. But, for the ones I use now, I never intend to be without this new brand--Oral B Sensi Soft--00410-10430. If I ever seen the GUM Sun again, I will buy more of those.

Toothbrushes were passed out to lots of people for a few years. It makes me anxious to think people don't have toothbrushes. I feel obligated to help people who need them.

Okay, enough said about toothbrushes.

I almost never throw away a toothbrush, storing them under bathroom sink and kitchen sink to clean.

Today, the cleaner cancelled. She needs a new tire on her car. I have a list of things for her, nothing hard or lengthy. The list will keep things moving along. I thought we did not remove all the food from the freezer to sort, but she and Tommy say we did.

This afternoon, I suggested we go somewhere to get out of the house. We tried to see the dogs but could not. Then, we went to look at a car in a closed car lot. I thought car dealers were open on Sundays. Then, I found a dress that I hope works, and little pink purse so I don't carry this heavy red one. It can be a fanny pack or crossbody. And, we got Tommy's milk. Plus, he requested serving spoons without slots. I got another pack of  microfiber cloths. This way, I can fill two or three of the lingerie bags with dirty cloths and wash them separately in the washing machine in cold water. I did not know until lately that they should not be washed in hot water or dried.

That was our big excursion for the day. The day was bright, beautiful, and very dry.

I finally got the fertilizer ready for Tommy to use on flowers and blackberries. so he needs to water with just water today.

Do you ever use Miracle Gro?

Do your gums seem to hurt with some toothbrushes? Are they sensitive like mine?

What is your favorite toothbrush?

Cheeeese!

Hallelujah! We found my cheese at a great price--$4/lb, rather than $4.79/ 8 oz. My 8 oz. block of cheese is now worth $2! That is less half of the price.

As we were leaving, Tommy was cutting the tags and other store stuff from his fake Crocs. I watched him put one shoe on. Then, he pulled out the other shoe--"Damn!" He said he had gotten two left shoes. That was hard to imagine because they were on a plastic holder with tags. We were going to pack them up. He was getting the old shoes to wear once more when he discovered there were two right shoes. We had a good laugh. So, one less chore.

We both needed our milk. Mine was still $4.49 for a half-gallon at Publix. I got my yearly Nabisco Grahams Original. I like them dipped in milk or with peanut butter.

I did not sleep well last night, so I cancelled something planned for this afternoon and took a nap. The mower came and the grass looks great. Tommy's gate to the backyard has been off many years. Someone took it off and never put it back. So, mower put it back on. It turns out that the gate only needed to be lifted onto the hinge part of the fence. I don't understand that, but whatever. It is done. I am fixing things that make this place look shabby. Now, Tommy lets me do what needs to be done.

Last night, allergies attacked me again. I am worse, aching eardrums, tinnitus, sore neck, not throat. When I went to allergist and had tests when I was 21, he came back with results and said, "It looks like you weren't meant to live in this world!" That is how I feel right now. In spite of that, we have had a good day. The sun shone today and it was dry.

Dinner will be late tonight--turkey breasts, broccoli, carrots, potatoes roasted in a pan. Then, I will have strawberries, blueberries, and grapes.

Do you have allergies?

A few things and so cold and wet

First of all, Oui comes in very strong glass pots. I dropped a bag of groceries while I was trying to transfer the bags from one hand to the other. I heard the Oui land with a crack on the concrete step. There seemed to be no doubt that it had broken. Nope. Those glass pots are sturdy.

Then, I took a can of tuna from the shelf and dropped it right on my big toe that was hurting anyway. The can of tuna landed right at and above the cuticle. That hurt SO. A few days later I dropped something else on the exact same spot. Yes, it is very much discolored. I was going to a podiatrist anyway, but it will be fine.

No, I don't drop so much. But, dropping the Oui reminded me of my dropping things on my toe.

Yesterday, we went to another free lunch. We had a beef patty with delicious gravy, huge sweet potato, green beans and two very thin slices of buttered bread, unsweetened iced tea, and cookies.

We also brought a meal home. Tommy was glad to get a meal for home, especially since I cooked nothing for dinner.

I went to Publix and WM and bought a few things. I left the milk in his car and my car for six hours. It was still cool when I brought it in from my car. Tommy told me I left it in his car, so I went out to get it and put it in my car while I helped him. Then, I forgot it in there. No, I did not forget it. I was cold, just hurting so much and went to sleep.

He called me shortly after I got back in the house after putting food in his car. His car would not start since he left the lights on when he came into the house. I think my lights go off after a bit.

It rained all day, sometimes a drizzle and sometimes steady rain. So, I was already feeling damp. I went to Auto Zone to borrow jumper cables. Of course, I am drowning and my sandaled feet are cold and wet. He had to use two canes while hooking them up. He had on a rain jacket, socks and shoes which I did not! Then, I had to take the cables back. I was so exhausted I was dizzy.

Jumper cables are something I used to have. Where did they go? They are a case of something someone asked to borrow, promising to bring them back. NO! The person would not give them back.

Cold and wet? Yesterday I was the wettest I have been in ages. Since the weather was around sixty, it was numbing. Remember, it was in high 80s two days ago.

This past week, I have finished my Christmas shopping. Of course, every last thing was reduced. So. that is a bit of good news for me.

Does anyone have one of those things to keep to jump off a car without needing cables and another car? Have an opinion of how they are to use?
