Do You Eat In Middle of the Night?

The cleaner is here for two hours. She has made my bed and is now cleaning the bathroom. That is all I expect her to do today. Oh, and I want her to take the Christmas lights off the tomato cage. I don't know why Tommy does not want to do it, but he said he does not want to. Maybe next time, she can help put away the few things that are Christmas and stacked on a table in here.

I added more things to my call and do list. I have paid two credit/debit cards this morning.

This is a sore spot with me. Two weeks ago, I called because I 'lost' my debit card, right here in the house, I was sure. Well, the next day, of course, I found it right at my elbow. Since I knew, according to the banker, that my card had been cancelled. Now, a new one had to be ordered. Annoyed at myself, I did not call. I was to expect it in 3-5 business days. I know how that works. Yesterday, I called to see if all was going as planned since the new card was overdue. She told me the debit card was still active and there was no record of a new one being ordered or even mentioned. I was fit to be tied. I had been using Tommy's CC all this time. I am glad I decided to be an annoyance and call about the debit card. Grrr

I still have not heard from the tree guy or electrician or mower. We are expecting rain on Friday, so two of those guys better hurry.

We went out and I left my phone at home. So, no more phone calls. I was fit to be tied! So, no doctors calls. Nothing. We went to new location of farmer's market and could not find farmers from whom we buy, mostly clothes and junk. Since I was so annoyed, we just came home. I decided I would have a doughnut and that put me out. That and the fact I lost sleep last night, forgot why. Oh, my eye hurt. It felt like I had an eyelash under the top lid. Then, I had to get up for cleaner.

Tomorrow, I have an appointment to have teeth cleaned. Plus, I do need to make more phone call. The three men who should call will all probably want to come here to do their thing. Nope.

Today, cleaner did make my bed. She forgets what I want done to bed, so I stay to see it is done correctly. The bathroom was cleaned top to bottom. Tommy washed rugs and put them back. The Christmas lights are down and in box. Progress!

Tommy jumps when the monitor goes off. He ate at 4:30 this morning. I hate he has to wake up to eat. But, he goes right back to sleep. And, he still writes in his spiral notebook. Does anyone else have a monitor that goes off during the night? Do you get up and eat? I only mean after a monitor goes off!

I Had to Say It

Today, I decided today was the day. One way or another, I was going to talk to nurse who was supposed to call me a month ago. The person who answered the phone demanded to know exactly what my questions were. I told her I could get off the phone, write the questions out and call her back with 20 questions she could write down, plus there were questions with follow up questions. She said she would have her call me. I asked when. She did not know. I told her I had been waiting for a return call for over three weeks. This fact was what I just had to say.  I said this with no rancor.

Lo and behold! The nurse called within the hour. It seemed we talked for an hour. But, it was a bit over 19 minutes. The latest tests show no sign of Barretts esophagus. The last doctor said I did. She said, NO.

It went on like this with the first doctor telling me things that were not true. The nurse said there was nothing in his notes or in the test results. I may even have office notes saying so.

I had gallstones before or shadows of gallstones. Now, there is nothing, no gallstones. I was given bad news about my liver; now liver enzymes are fine. So, I am glad I am out of there with the first doctor. I have been told by other doctors he will not send test results, will not cooperate with other doctors. Well, cannot worry about that.

Plus, present doc had sent a referral to an endocrinologist twice, and they were surprised this ENT had not contacted me. I now have a name and number to call.

I did forget to alert the nurse to my unexpected weight loss, so I will just leave a message tomorrow. I feel looser below waist like I can feel the loss.

I called a certain dealer about having a lift attached to a vehicle to lift and lower a scooter or wheelchair. First dealer--leave a message. Second dealer--no one came to phone afterI asked for manager, and I was switched to leave a message. Third dealer--sweet thing got her feelings hurt because she did not know anything about anything that lifted a vehicle. She got smart and said I was rude when I thought she was being rude and she would not let me talk to anyone else. I suppose she needed to sell a car. Now, all three of these were the same manufacturer, just different locations. I gave up for today. She was the one sour note in the day after making a dozen calls. I will switch to another manufacturer tomorrow.

I even called about the bed I ordered that I changed my mind about. This has been going on for four years. The woman who was going to make it right three months ago, is not calling. The delivery would only put it on the front porch, so I told them I did not want it. Even after I explained neither of us could lift it to bring it in, they refused.

The company that delivered and set up the wrong base and mattress promised to call me today. I have heard nothing.

We went to Publix to get Diet Coke Caffeine Free for me and Diet Pepsi for Tommy. Both were b2g1. I bought two other bogo things, forgot what, plus milk for both of us. I need to go back for a few things.

While we were out, we got all three store ads. There is nothing we want or need.  However, we both look over the ads at home and sometimes find something we overlooked.

The weather was supposed to be worse south of us, but there was nothing to mention and even less rain here than expected. However, the thunder yesterday and today was scary sounding even though it was not particularly close. The wind ripped my hair around so that when I finally got into Publix, it appeared my hair grew down over my face.

Dinner: Whopper Jr. while out,  huge salad with tomato at home, plus an orange. Later, I will have blueberries and Greek yogurt. Even later, I will have a bowl of kale. Tommy had Whopper Jr. when out,  ground beef on bun later at home, broccoli, and salad. We have so much food prepared! We never have anything on the Whopper, Jr. except for cheese, lettuce, and tomato.

Today has been quiet, cold, rainy, damp feeling indoors even though the temperature was in the high 60s. This post may not be important to anyone else, but it is to me. I know--boring.

Have you ever had a doctor tell you something that was not true? This is the only one for me.

Doesn't it seem car salesmen would answer the phone?

Cleaner Came; Today Was a Winner

This person is the daughter of my friend who died last Fall. I mentioned needing someone. She said she might be able to help me. She lives halfway between Cullman and Birmingham. She cleans for several people. One moved to Hoover several years ago, so she still goes to her house every three weeks or once a month. She emailed me and said she could come today.

I had told her I needed someone to help me get the last of the Christmas items boxed and put away. Well, I got to thinking about that. These few little things are hurting no one. What I really needed was someone to make my bed since it took Tommy and I so long, 45 minutes to put on two sheets, spread and blanket.

Plus, the reindeer were still out, baby on the porch, doe and buck in carport. Even though they were not in rain, they were still in dampness and sun and wind. We have large, gold glitter everywhere!

She made my bed and took apart the deer and put them in a box. She took them inside to tape. She and Tommy were doing it when I managed to get inside. She stayed an hour and Tommy gave her $25.  We gave her the candy canes, making her happy. She said she would give them to people at church. She works with children, so I suppose they will go to her class.

The bed frame was on the grass with a FREE sign on it. While we were taping, someone took it--the mailman. I was shocked and asked Tommy how he got it in the truck. It seems he knew how to take it apart. I knew it came apart, but could not figure out how. Well, it was too hard. I am glad someone took it who can use it instead of selling it for scrap. Well, he might be doing that, but I don't care.

Within three minutes of her leaving, I was getting into bed after changing into a clean nightgown. As I turned and over to sleep on my left side, I felt funny. Well, I barely had time to roll over and sit up as I threw up over and over again into nightgown I had on.  I had Tommy hand me the nightgown on top of dirty clothes, put it under the bulge in my nightgown. Once I got both nightgowns in waste basket, I realized liquid was on my panties and then on fresh, clean sheets. A wipe got off the dampness on sheet. Thankfully, it was like one drop.

So, here I am sleepy, naked, still sick feeling! I had to get up. It's been over an hour and a half. I ate crackers very slowly, very slowly. I almost choked on them. I wonder if this is related to other GI problem I had.

Oh, I asked my friend how her father was doing. She said he remarried three weeks ago. She laughed and said he needed someone to do all the things her mother did for him. She was okay with his remarrying so soon. I certainly don't care.

Tommy has been outside rinsing nightgowns under the faucet since he cannot get the hose onto the faucet. The poor man has been doing a lot of laundry in the last few days. The faucet is so low that he cannot bend to use it. He must put his head against the brick wall to get to the faucet. I will have the faucet extended upward so we both can use it.

Other than the cleaner coming, the mailman coming, the bed frame going, my and being sick, today has seemed like Sunday.

I wanted to get meat on sale at Food Giant, so we finally left to get meds and meat. Walgreen's still did not have Victoza, so I transferred to CVS, Tommy went in and got top round roast for $4.99/lb., and a box of Graham crackers. The roast was almost $12. I will cut it in two pieces and freeze half. Maybe I will cut it into three pieces.

We needed to get Dasani water, but there was none yesterday. I called and they had plenty. On Wednesday it is bogo. We can wait.

My nap was 1.5 hours, not nearly enough. I still feel like I will be sick again. All in all, today was a winner.

I will cancel the doctor appointment tomorrow. I cannot ride an hour to allergist! I hate that, too.

Tommy found his own dinner--meatballs from freezer, broccoli from refrigerator, and a little can of red beans and rice.  I had Graham Crackers and later cooked ground beef on bread. I hope it stays down.

Plans for tomorrow revolve around collecting ads and buying at least water and whatever else is on sale, clearance, or bogo.

What did you get accomplished today?

What are your plans for tomorrow?

Upcycled seating and hen bedtime

Last week I had to make a u-turn. Yes, I had to because I saw something I wanted to photograph.

Bed to seat
Isn't this just the nicest remake ever? I have seen wooden beds remade for a bench, but never a metal bed. Below, you can see the seat for the bench. I have seen this mesh-type material, but cannot place it.
Update: The seat is from a tabletop. The frame to go around the seat was welded to fit. Thanks, Stephanie for this information. It is all so clear where I have seen this material. Of course, something else would work.

The pictures are a funny color and angle, but I had to stand where the sun was not in my eyes. Consequently, I was closer than I wanted to be.
I have seen this very style of bed and never thought the bed could be made into a seat. Now, the wooden ones have been around since the 70s. My brother gave me a wooden seat made from a double bed. I never could get it 150 miles back home, so my mother got rid of it.

Hens
I started this blog last week in the midst of a fever. Then, with one keystroke, I lost it all. I thought the fever was gone. But, the fever remains and my sinuses are causing a massive face and forehead ache. I hope I can NOT erase all this time.

table for three
My hens were the recipients of the leavings of my watermelon I finished today. They ate for awhile, seemed to lose interest, and left. Yet, when I came back out, they had finished it, including the rind. Only the outer skin remained.

Fancy is at 1 o'clock; Thelma is at 6 o'clock; Louise is at 11 o'clock. (above)

Louise is scratching with both feet
Before they became bored and walked away in search of grass, Louise got in with both feet, scratching.
I suppose she was scratching out more watermelon seeds!

But, the cage is still out on the porch, one step down. She objected to my taking her from the cage so I could put it indoors without having to lift her and carry her up two steps. As soon as the cage was in the doorway, she jumped right back in. However....

Fancy roosting outside the door
Fancy, in the foreground, and Thelma are not going to come in. You can see how dark it is. Usually they are fussing at me, wanting inside. I talked to them and told them to come in. They usually jump right off the rail and into their cage when I get it all settled and tell them it is time for bed.

This time, they both ignored me...for a long time. Thelma was facing the other way, but she seemed to want to ignore me, so she turned like she is, where she cannot see me. They have never done this. Usually, when I wait too long, well, longer than they like, they come right into the house when their cage is in place. I had to pick them from their roost on the iron rail by the porch and step and put them into their cage indoors.

Finally, all tucked in

Whew!

Your turn
Don't you just love these seats/benches made from beds? Metal in the yard will not rot! Do you have trouble getting the children to bed?
