Solving Problems Today

 Today, I steeled myself, gritted my teeth, then relaxed and put on a voice more pleasant than I felt. I got a woman to whom I have talked before and told her how disruptive this was to my financial life. So, this is the long story of how it happened.

I was at Bank1. They became Bank 2. I was told the free checks were good and free to use as long as I had them. I still have about 100 checks. I use them not often. I have never used one over the phone until a few weeks ago. That is the problem--the routing numbers are changed since it is under a new bank. Now, why couldn't someone else help me figure this out? I was an agent of the solving the problem. However, I had a late charge at Amazon. The local business took off the late charge and something else. So, now I know. Why could all these employees before her figure it out? Also, why couldn't someone have given me new routing numbers to use over the phone. I don't need new numbers if I use a check at the store or at bank. I do not have and have not had one overdraft, thank you.

Tommy just finished a 30-minute call to ATT about why he was not charged for long-distance service. Somehow, his charge was not put on the bill. But, the amount of talking required was too much. At least, his service was not cancelled.

Now, I need to talk with Amazon.,,,if I can find someone who speaks English well enough to understand. People in this country need jobs. I ordered something on sale for $329 and used my accrued points to pay for it. They did not use my points and charged me $449. Needless to say, this does not sit well with me!`

Tonight, we had baked chicken, garlic potatoes with green beans, and Romaine. Tommy had a salad, chicken and garlic potatoes with green beans. 

Additionally, I baked a turkey breast wrapped in bacon and some sort of stuffing. I pulled off all the bacon. Whatever it was stuffed with will keep my mouth and stomach burning all night. I only took a taste! 

A sliced baked ham went into the freezer. I cannot wait to eat it. I need to cook beans and bake sweet potatoes for that. Or, maybe we will have that for Easter.

Insufficient Funds

OT called and I was not on her schedule, so she did not keep appointment today. She said that is usually a sign I am not getting more therapy. Bummer. I may have started three months ago, but I have gotten only half that. She said my insurance probably cut the program for me. 

The nurse needed to see me this week. Since I was busy the day she wanted to come, I mean right that day, I told her to let's make an appointment for tomorrow. No, she cannot because she might get new patients she would have to see. Tonight, I went to bed at 7 pm. She called at 8 pm, trying to convince Tommy to make an appointment at 3 pm even though he told her we had something planned. What's wrong with these people? I called her and got her voice mail, so nothing will be set when tomorrow comes. I hate this.

Today, we came home, and I rushed to the bathroom. I unlocked the door and rushed down the hall. I sat on commode and a few minutes later was rushing to go out again. As I stood up, I heard something rattle and then a thud on the bathroom floor. I had to shake my cell phone and keys out of the leg of my pants. The phone and keys fell out of my jacket pocket, into pants and through my pants leg. I was so confused. I have never had that happen before. Tommy had a good laugh when I told him. 

We had chicken fingers I cooked in the oven for dinner. I had chicken fingers and Romaine, and Tommy had chicken fingers and a salad. I have never tasted such salty fingers. I am finishing my third or fourth bottle of water tonight. I just hope I am not up all night. 

At 7 pm, I had to go to bed but only slept until 10pm. I do expect to go back to bed about 3 am and sleep the rest of the night. 

The temperature was around 42F. It is back to 27F tonight and back up to mid 40s Friday. Yesterday, the humidity was -6. It was so dry it was affecting my sinuses. I have never heard of such low humidity. 

My bank is rejecting checks and debits because of insufficient funds, yet the tell me I have plenty of money when I call the bank. This is driving me crazy.

Every night, we watch a Hopalong Cassidy movie since they come on Grit at 1 am. Has anyone found them yet? 

Banking Change and Pain

When I wanted to pay the cell phone by AutoPay, I could not because I needed a bank card. Since I did not want a card, I had to decide if getting a card was worth saving $10 each month. I decided I wanted to save money.

Once I obtained a card and figured out how easy it was to slide the card, I feared I would be overdrawn since I never wrote down the purchase like I knew I should.

Plus, I still do not have my laptop back and did not want to put my banking info on someone else's computer. Therefore, I can never check my bank info like I have for years.

On TV there is a commercial about getting a card from an online bank. This service reports to your phone each time the card is used and gives you transaction amount and new balance.

Yesterday, I asked the drive up teller if my bank had this service. Since they do have the service, I hobbled inside and signed all the paperwork.

Now, I get texts with each transaction. There are problems with what I want and what I got.  The transmission about the transaction is not as immediate as I want. But, it works for me.

Right now, I am in so much pain, all from the wreck. When I swallow food, my back at lower shoulder blade hurts. Moving my left hand to type does not hurt, but moving my hand to mouth to cough is painful for arm and coughing. My shoulder was sore, but now it is unbearable.

The only thing I could eat on Friday was cereal. I ate a whole box. Eating anything like chicken or bread hurt my back so it was excruciating.  I figured that out on Thursday. I did eat a banana, but I knew I could neither cut or chew an apple.  It is weird to swallow and have my back at spine to shoulder blade to hurt. It feels like I am being stabbed.

Monday Doings

One sentence about her. Since I did not expect J to show up like she said she would, I was not all surprised or upset. Okay, enough of that.

This was all in one trip today. So, I am exhausted. Everything is close together, so I probably drove 7 miles.

At the bank I went inside to straighten out my checking account. I had not written down 3 checks, so I got that taken care of, and, yes, I did have enough to pay J and to get the prescription. Better to be cautious than just hope I had money.

Thankfully, there was money because I needed gas for the car. Plus, I needed that one Cella chocolate covered cherry. I did not eat it, so it is in the freezer firming up.

I looked at TV at Walmart. I have a teeny bit of the $135. + tax to get a 32" TCL brand TV with built in ROKU. At the WM  pharmacy I got the prescription I thought I could not afford yesterday. While at the pharmacy, I had to call the doctor for a refill he did not give me and had another prescription refilled. Rather than waiting, I will go back another day.

The Chick-fil-coupon was calling for me to use it, so I did, and drank a Coke from home. Yum.

A letter came yesterday from my car insurance company that said something about a refund check. Yes, I want it. But, it was not in the envelope and there was no indication if it had been mailed or would be mailed. However, it was definitely not in the envelope. After a call--I should get it soon as the letter was mailed out the day before the check.

I stopped by to place to ads for things I am selling. Tomorrow, exbf will put in two ads under his name. I plan to place ads at a call-in program on the radio tomorrow.

My boombox will not pick up the station that plays Christmas music non-stop from Thanksgiving thru Christmas. So, I went to Lowe's and got 12 feet of copper wire to stick out the window. I thought up high near the window would work, but, no, the guy said stick it outside the window. Lovely!

Finally, I went to Publix to buy the milk I must drink. When I am in Publix, I always look at the sale racks and the freezer section that holds frozen items reduced. I found tomorrow's dinner when exbf comes. We are going to a church lunch. What we are having for dinner tomorrow evening:

Barley and Mushroom Soup
2 servings in two separate pouches
2 for $2.50, so $1.25 for the one box with two servings
no sugar or salt
barley, carrots, mushrooms, corn, celery, onions and various seasoning

It sounds delicious. I might add some brown rice if I cook rice. I will add chicken for him. I might split one of the pouches with him, depending on what else I have to go with this and what he says. He may want all of it. If this is good, I may go back and get the other boxes of this left on the freezer shelf.

For $1.25 I think this is a good price for dinner for two and maybe for four servings. I love it when I don't have to cook when he comes, especially when I have not cooked or planned.

Now, I am home and exhausted! I have to wash dishes and wash my hair...ugh. and hang up clothes and do more laundry. Well, that is the plan.

I offered to take J to the lunch, to two food banks, and take her home. We will see.

The chocolate covered cherry should have firmed up by now.
