Monday, More Money for Me Today

Today was MRI day. Tommy came up and drove me. I have been feeling woozy and did not want to drive so far. I packed a snack-y sort of lunch to keep from buying fast food. We each had three good sized strawberries and a large pineapple spear, cheddar cheese and chunks of chicken. I packed a tiny pack of goldfish for him, and we had water. My intentions were to make a sandwich, but I could not find the bread after a ten-second search.

At the MRI office, I received a $10 gift card and another for the last time I went for an MRI. There was a basket of snacks. I ate cookies and took cheese peanut butter crackers to Tommy. The lady gave me a Coke. There is a cooler full of drinks for customers. It is a very nice facility. The tiny dressing rooms are well-appointed. It all feels so luxurious.

Before we left for my appointment to the north, we drove 7 miles south. We each purchased a turkey breast for $0.95/lbs. The three are in the refrigerator. Hopefully, all three will fit in a turkey bag. I will cook all three and slice one for him, keeping the other two in my freezer, sliced and ready to serve.

The temps were fine until a chilling rain turned the day uncomfortable. Tommy said it was strange hearing me say I was cold because I rarely complain about the cold in such mild weather as we had today.

The two gift cards bought gas. $20 did not even fill the car 3/4 full. Gas is $2.12 here.

I had one of those frozen meals, raw and ready to cook. Yesterday, I cooked that in the crock pot, took out the pork roast, onions, and peppers. Then, I added potatoes and carrots to the crock pot. The carrots were organic and four different colors. This all went home with Tommy. The mojito seasoning is just too hot for me.

Now, I wonder what money will come my way tomorrow.

Not a Lot to Say

After my dream-riddled sleep, I felt horrible all day Thursday . But, I had things to do, or a thing to do. I went to the MRI and found xrays were scheduled. I was not having any of that, so doctor called in MRI orders. Well, I was still dazed from the horrid night of sleep and dreams, so I went along with it until...

I WAS BEING PUSHEDPULLED INTO THE MRI TUBE.

I am not having any of that either. The woman tech was really nice about it. So, a call to the doctor will maybe give me an open MRI. They are talking sedating me for the MRI. I am not sure of that.

On Thursday, yesterday, I missed going to Farmer's Market. Bummer.

So, today is Friday. I hate getting mail from places that are only sending me mail to notify me I am pre-approved for a loan. Calling these places does not work. So, today, I put "no one here by that name." On one I put "unknown."

Plus, I received a mail notification that the warranty on my totaled car has expired. Since it was a 2000 model, you know it had expired long ago.

A news magazine stated it was illegal to sell warranties and pointed out horrible business practices. One woman with dementia was sold a warranty. Another had no car and was harangued into buying a warranty. So, I have a little card trying to sell me a warranty. I am going to have a little talk with someone.  Does it ever end?

The Way it Starts

It seems that it always starts, "I didn't get enough sleep." Three hours won't work for me. But, nevertheless, I accomplished things.

The doctor's appointment at 9:40 kept me up. Thankfully, it is only a few blocks from me. I now have an appointment for an endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled...whoopee! Unfortunately, it is on the day of one of the lunches. The last time I had a lunch with colonoscopy afterwards, I sat with my lunch box and watched people eat. Amazingly, I was just fine. The lunch came in with me and as soon as the anesthesia wore off, I started eating, much to the chagrin of the nurses who declared I would throw up. I never throw up after anesthesia!

I went to WM and picked up meds for this month. The car was so hot on the way, even with ac on that my hair was wet strings by the time I got there. The ac in the store felt good. I want to live there.

Then, at Publix I bought a2milk, had a sample of soup from the deli and part of the food cooked right there on the floor. It is the first thing I have not like. The salmon tasted foul; the dressing was not good: coleslaw was not to my liking.

J and I came back home after I took her some place she needed to go. I managed to schedule and MRI for my head once I found what day exbf has off next week.

By this time it is after 4 pm. and I am exhausted. The garage could put in the sway bar, so I went there. On the way home on the highway, I hit a traffic jam. We just sat still for ten minutes.

It has finally rained and cooled off a bit. I am going to sleep. This place is more of a wreck than usual, and I don't care! It is 7 pm and I have been awake since 2:30 this morning. I feel grumpy like I need a nap.

MRI and freebies

I just returned from an MRI, a repeat of the one I had last week. I have to have an open MRI. The doctor did not want me to go to the one here, so I have to make a road trip to get it done.

In the waiting room there was a woman with a baby. She must have been the grandmother. She kept saying sharply to the eight-month-old boy to "settle down!" "Now!" She kept stuffing a bottle in his mouth and trying to cover him up with a fleece blanket. All the time, he fought the bottle and blanket, she was bouncing him up and down.

He wanted to smile at me, but I did not want to encourage him not to sleep. The only thing I said to her was, "How old is he?" She snapped out the answer. Then, she smacked his bottom half a dozen times. Two teens came in and she got up and stomped around. Then, she said, "Let me get out of here before I explode! I will just sit in the truck in the heat!" As she left she was mumbling something about how "she was the rudest person ever." Since I was the only person there, I was puzzled. I barely looked up from my magazine, but since she was in a chair facing me in a very small waiting room, I could not help but see her actions and hear her impatient voice.

Maybe my resting face was a bitch-face. Beats me. I was hurting too much to put on a show of delight for her. Should I have smiled at the magazine? She was acting all angry with the baby as I stood at the window to sign in.

This is not my first MRI, just the windiest. The cold air was not a problem, but I was about to sneeze. That would have disrupted the MRI and made it last longer. It was going to be a big sneeze, so I would probably have hit my head in the machine. I mentioned all this when the MRI was over, and she said she had a fan on me.

They gave me a Coke as I left, saying they were free when I took out money to pay. They have a bowl of snacks, too. So, I left with a Coke, snack, and $10 Walmart card. Sweeeet!

Last Monday, J and I were leaving WM and saw a sign under a tent that said, Free Drinks. You know we stopped by. This was still in the WM parking lot. I drove up to the tent and asked for a free drink for us. The woman said sure but would I do them a favor.  We filled out a form for a credit check to get a credit card for Kay Jewelers. I figured I would not get it and so did J. My credit card for Kay Jewelers arrived today. I probably have a $10 credit limit. Okay, on a hot day, I received a can of Mt. Dew on a very hot day.  I drink few Mt. Dews, but I have never had one in a can. And, I will not be charging jewelry!

Something must be getting Dominique's egg.  I haven't gotten one in a week. She has made a nest in  box on the ground, so I am not sure if she lays in there and a snake gets it before I can. It was only yesterday that it dawned on me to check the box on the ground. That happened a couple of years ago. I just went out four or five times a day and made sure I never left an egg overnight. I saw the huge snake, but I think it left after there were no eggs for it to eat. I am out of her eggs, so I need to get on top of this.

Your turn
If you have gotten an MRI, do you get closed or open MRI? Do you get money and food for doing so? Did you have a fan turned on you, blowing air up your pants? Does anyone have a jewelry store cc?

Rushing For Nought

I awoke just an hour and a half before I had an appointment for a MRI. Thankfully, they called me the day before, telling me the doctor had scheduled it. I was there about two minutes before my appointment. However, they were puzzled as they said I had no appointment. They checked my name and asked who was the doctor.

Supposing this was my mistake, I sat down and found the number I thought had called me yesterday. Yes, I was right about my being wrong. I had to tell the woman 40 miles from here at the other MRI that I was at the wrong MRI facility. Rats!

Since I was up, dressed, and out of the house, I decided to do things I needed to do: bought blouse, went to Harbor Freight for my free item and one for exbf, went to WM, bought a kitchen waste basket from Dollar General.

There was a list I left at home for things to price-match at WM. So, it seems I just wandered around and came home with just a pack of seeds. I could not remember one item on my list.

It was pouring rain all day! Finally, when I came home, the rain stopped. Despite my best efforts with my umbrella, the wind and rain kept my hair damp and flat.

The new blouse seems a bit too tight. The size larger swallowed me.  It seems there should be two sizes in between. Seriously, there is such a difference.

Now, it is time for a salad.

Your turn
Have you ever rushed and showed up at the wrong doctor's office at the right time?
