Saturday, it appeared children and parents were enjoying egg hunts, bounce houses, and picnics since it was near 80F, dry, and sunny. I expect Easter Day to be the same.
Is your Easter happy?
This is tiny planter at my house several years ago.
Our Easter is and always has been rather Pagan/secular humanist just like me, full of candy and fertility rites! (Kidding on the latter.) I made homemade peanut butter eggs a few weeks ago, a d homemade peanut butter cups on Friday. Last night, I stealthily made baskets, and dropped them off outside the kids' bedroom doors. Eldest was tickled to wake up to it...he's all about family traditions. Dinner will be ham, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, lime gelatin salad with a copycat lemon "Nothing Bundt Cake" for dessert. We'll eat around 3 (ish) but in an hour or so (it's 9:30 now) I will set out deviled eggs, bagels, smoked salmon, and pour mimosas. The weather is sunny, and cool, with temperatures expected to be in the low 60's with a slight breeze, and DH and I are sitting in the sunroom with DH with our gas fireplace lit, watching our chickens play in their run. Seems like the start of a great day!
Meg, Well, why not a few fertility rituals?! Your celebration sounds perfect. I think no matter how old children are, that continuing celebrations is important. Your meal sounds great and offerings early are perfect. I wish I were in a sunroom watching chickens. It sounds like a perfect start to the day!
I am sitting with Father (who is asleep) listening to his church service on line. We are hearing "Christ the Lord is Risen Today"
