21 Unhealthiest Breads on the Planet

I am exhausted with a story to tell. However, this  below is all I have right now.

Since my favorite breads are on this list, I was shocked, appalled, and disappointed. Are any of your favorite breads on this list?

  1. They are not brands we see here, but sadly I am not surprised. And suspect some of our brands will be similarly guilty.
I have a weakness for sourdough bread. With olives or seeds.

  2. EC,
"On the planet"? Obviously, the US is the whole of the planet. I like sourdough bread, too. I love any bread with seeds.

  3. Written by a snob who doesn't know anything. I don't think all of those are so bad. Of course, white bread is not ideal. I can't find fault with the 100% whole wheat breads. So what if they have a little sugar in them? The world will not end.

    1. GrapesTrades,
Whew! Thanks. I feel better. I do do the best I can when shopping for bread. Since I am most concerned with NOT eating whole wheat, choices are limited for me.

  4. The only one of these I buy is the Sunmaid Raisin bread and it's a once a year indulgence - like my once a year purchase of a box of Alphabets cereal!
Otherwise, since I don't eat a lot of bread I spend between $4 and $7 dollars Cdn. for a really high quality, dense loaf - usually a sourdough or rye. These loaves will have maybe 4 or 5 ingredients as opposed to the 20 or so on the ones listed in the article. I also make bread - usually a Whole Wheat soda bread which is flour, salt, baking soda and buttermilk and takes no time at all.

  5. Poor bread. It used to be the staff of life and what peasants rebelled governments in order to get. Now it's on par with eating cut glass.

    1. urspo,
Hard won rights or things are treasured. I suppose that is why we are obsessed with bread.

  6. I read the list. YIKES! Is there anything we can eat? I feel like sitting in tree and eating nothing but bugs!
Feel better Linda. We need you up and moving and enjoying your life. I love when you are feeling well.

    1. tana50,
There are worse breads a person can eat. I can see you sitting in a tree eating bugs! Thanks. I need to feel better soon. It is no fun feeling so terrible. And, I ate bread tonight!

  7. hope you are OK.
unfortunately I can't eat bread, can't tolerate grains. I'd love to eat any of those on the list - it seems like every food is classified as unhealthy now - I think if you feel well, eat whatever agrees with you.

    1. Jan,
That is bad not to be able to tolerate grains, especially oats. It is a grain, right? Even healthy uncooked food is now able to kill us, thinking of Romaine and other raw foods like watermelon that have cause death and illness. I am trying to get better and am not sure how, so I want little. That's one way to keep from eating unhealthy food--get ill.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
