  1. I was reading your previous posts and came across where you said the plumber (one of them) was irritated you did not have all the money. I'll say this: be very, very wary if they want you to pay the whole sum before they start the work. That is not normal. In all my years, the contractor, no matter what trade, gets half at the most in the beginning, maybe a little more as they get close to finishing and the remainder at completion of the job. You have NO leverage if you pay them the total in the beginning. They can get halfway through your job and then drag up and you have no way to get them back. Most contractors are legit but I've seen that happen more than once. I'm gonna ask around and see if I can find another plumber that can at least give you another quote. I'm over in Blount county so may be able to find someone.

    1. He meant money to pay us when we are finished before we start.

  2. Another quote sounds like a good idea though...

    1. I have gotten other quotes. $2500 for one. No one is cheap when they hear the words--"new water line." You gotta have that!

    2. Remember, the line will be over 200 feet, drilling hole through thick concrete, repairing sewer line that was cut under the house.

The $2500 was just for the water line, not the sewer line.

    3. Actually, the $1800 was for water line. The sewer line was quoted $500. And, $200 for new water heater I will probably need. And, if any of this old pipe continues to break, I will owe more.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
