Eclipse Glasses--Found

After looking on the internet and calling around, I finally found glasses for viewing the eclipse at Lowe's for $1.98. So, that's done. I feared I would not find any locally and be forced to order from the internet and then not be sure they would arrive in time.

These are made in the USA, not China, thankfully. The glasses meet ISO standards. Well, it says so on the glasses.

I held them up to look through them and could not see anything, not even light. I've yet to hold them to the sun....maybe later today.

This is the most important thing I had to think and worry about. Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed there will be no clouds. Plus, I am nervous about the crowds, actually the drunks and crazies that might be out that day.

Your turn
Are you going to see the total eclipse anywhere? Got your glasses? Got a plan?

  1. I purchased ours on-line, but a couple of weeks ago, so we have them. We are not going to a total eclipse area, just staying here where it is about 75%, so that will be fine. We will view from our property because supposedly all the animal, birds and insects get quiet and we would love to hear that as well. Nature is quite loud where we will live.

    1. Jennifer,
I will miss seeing how confused Dominique may be when it gets dark early and then it is light and time for her to get up again. At my age this will probably be my last chance to see a total eclipse, so I am going for it!

  2. Linda, no plan here. I hope this works for you as much as you are looking forward to it. I vaguely remember using a box with a hole cut out. You know people are going to look right at the sun.

    1. carol,
Thanks. I made a pinhole camera for some eclipse about 30 years ago. I am going to make one for each of us. Idiots! Guess they can ruin their eyesight.

  3. My husband picked some glasses up for the family last week when he was out and about. We are just going to observe what we can here in Ohio. I am hoping for Bill's sake and everyone else who are really looking forward to it that the weather cooperates for everyone!

    1. The weather is my only worry. August has pretty good weather, so maybe we will all be lucky. So, your husband is looking forward to this as much as I am? Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
