In Bed All Day

First of all, Dominique gave me an egg Wednesday and one today, Thursday. This breaks her record! This is six days in a row! That is as good as my first four hens.

I was out of sorts on Wednesday and rested and napped lots. Then, last night I realized I had a fever. Today, I stayed in bed and slept all day. Hopefully, the OTCs will cure this allergy induced illness.

On Wednesday I bought another half gallon of the a2milk. On a whim and partly because I was feeling bad, I splurged and bought the 2% chocolate in the same a2milk brand. Cokes were 4/$10 for 12-packs.

At one store there is a 72-hour sale that starts on Friday, and another has a sale is at another store only on Saturday. So, I need to make a list for those and leave early for WM both days to get the deals while it is fresh if it is produce or even available.

Yesterday, it was so cold I had to use the wool blanket with a flannel sheet over it. It is amazing how warm just a flannel sheet over the wool blanket can keep me. This evening, I turned on the space heater!

The $0.99 pineapple must be sliced tonight. Otherwise, it will turn. Right now, I am eating the second piece of two pieces of cake I froze for exbf. He is coming Monday, and hopefully he will have forgotten.

My life is exciting! But, the most exciting part is that it will not rain for at least 8 days. For the sake of Easter Egg Hunts, I hope the rain holds off for a few more days after this dry spell. Oh, I have an egg hunt story to tell you. My three children star in the story.

Your turn
Has anyone tried the a2milk? Have your hens started laying well? Are the special deals picking up where you live as Easter approaches? Do you have little ones looking forward to hunting eggs? Or, maybe you have other news?

  1. I hope you feel better soon! I haven't heard of that milk. My kiddos are looking forward to Easter. I am hoping the weather is good. It was 74 degrees here yesterday and tonight we are expecting snow so who knows what Easter will bring.

    1. Rachel,
We have not seen 74 in a few days. It is windy and chilly now. Go back and read about the milk from a few days ago. It is a miracle! I hope Easter has good weather for all the kids and parents of eager kids.

  2. This year my thinking is along the lines of "Crap. Palm Sunday. Holy week. Baskets. Crap." How did this happen?
We have two birthdays next week as well. I did manage to make a batch of peanut butter eggs yesterday, though. We will be dying duck eggs. They are huge. A neighbor gave them to us, as she can't eat them unless they are in a baked good.

    1. My son's birthday is the 16th, Easter Sunday and his son's birthday is on the 19th of April. I just have to pack the stuff. Yeah, the basket stuff creeps up on you.

Thankfully, we did not celebrate anything but Easter. Otherwise, it would be more exhausting than it was back then. I hope you post a picture of those eggs. I hear duck eggs are superb for baking but not for eating.

  3. I am sorry that you have been feeling sick. Hope you feel better soon. I would love to have fresh eggs but I live in a large metropolitan city and I am an apartment dweller. My grandma used to have a chicken coup and I liked to collect eggs every day when I was a kid.

    1. T'POL,
It's a spring allergy thing. I have sneezed dozens of times. Gathering eggs is a good memory.

  4. I don't know that milk but I only buy a half gallon organic at Aldi's and it lasts me a good 2 weeks. Organic has a lot longer life! Sorry you were sick! I'm taking today off except for answering the phone and I am baking cinnamon rolls and a coconut cake in an hour LOL. I just couldn't help it! No fresh eggs though and honestly, I doubt if I have had one since I was a kid and we lived next to a farm. The farmer rented us a little house after my dad returned from the navy. He would often sell us a quart of cream right from ole' Bessie and we'd make homemade ice cream. That's probably where I get my love for ice cream. I can't keep it in the house because it calls my name.

    1. Nan,
The a2milk completely eliminated my gastric distress. I drink a gallon of milk each week. I just love milk. That's a lot of baking in a short time. If there is ice cream here, I will devour it. So, I try to fight it off in the grocery store. You have some good memories. thanks

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
