February Flowers

I love this shade azalea.

Daffodils are all over my yard.

Vinca grows profusely, just not where I want.

forsythia or yellow bells

Azalea are six weeks early this year. We have festivals in the South, Dogwood Festivals, that are based on the timing of azalea blossoms. The daffodils have been in bloom for two weeks, at least. Vinca, also, does not bloom this early usually and has been in bloom for several weeks. The forsythia is over my head and spindly, so it really needs to be pruned this year.

This is my second post today. So, don't miss my Atlanta post just preceding this.

  2. LindaM,
Thanks. The Yoshino Cherry buds are swollen, so it is just a matter of time that all will have bloomed. I wonder what is left for spring proper.

  3. Lovely blooms. Daffodils are one of my favourites. I thought your azalias were wagillia! lol So much for my i.d. skills. It is worrisome that things are blooming so early. Hopefully it's just a trend and things will go back to normal next year...unless of course we get to like this longer gardening season :-)

  4. Hops,
    Thanks.

    Sue,
I don't know wagillia! But, these are definitely azalea. At this rate our long growing season might turn out to be two seasons. Well, we have two now, so maybe we can go for three seasons.
