Road Trip and Dominique

Did you read about the teen who found a 7.44 carat diamond.? Road trip?  Who is with me? Arkansas is very close! Who am I kidding since I can barely bend to do anything! He says he is going to keep it as a souvenir. What?

This is one of the places I have on my bucket list along with the garnet mine near Asheville, North Carolina. I may replace these aspirations with something more doable.

Dominique came through for me Thursday. I have two eggs and needed one more. I want two for my breakfast and one to put in meatballs for exbf tomorrow. The pork I am cooking will go into spaghetti, and the ground round that is still thawing will be meatballs for him to take home. YAY! The freezer is getting cleaned out by cooking up what I have. I cook the beef, feed some to him, freeze some for a time when he is here and I don't want to cook. The rest goes home with him. He likes meatballs.

Friday, and I just had my two scrambled eggs with a glass of milk. I will not be in the least hungry for at least four hours.

Hopefully, Dominique will soon give the 4-6 eggs each week like she gave me last year. When I had three hens and 18 eggs a week, I never had to ration my use of eggs or keep my fingers crossed for an egg!

Your turn
Have you ever been to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas?  The garnet mine in North Carolina? Are you a Rock Hound?

If you have hens, are they starting to lay well since spring is about here?

  1. Two Springs ago on our trip to Louisiana we went through Memphis to Little Rock and then west into LA. We practically went right by the Diamond park and thought about going back with the daughter on a field trip while visiting her. But it didn't happen as it was too hot for me to be digging outside there at that time of year.

    1. I understand. Maybe you could have put a chair in the shade and watch her dig with results on halfsies.

  2. I've never been to Crater of Diamonds, but if I thought I had seen a diamond on the ground I would launch myself right on it. I am an old lady and would need someone to help me up, but I would not hesitate!

    1. tana50,
I am with you. I would just clutch my diamond until someone helped me up. We old ladies should plan a field trip to Crater of Diamonds, complete with walkers, canes, knee pads for falling onto the diamonds and a cadre of young people to help us up!

  3. Never been, and if you have to get on your hands and knees, never will. But I am thrilled for that young man.

    1. carol,
tana50 had a good idea, just wait until someone could help you up. No, I won't be on hands and knees, searching for diamonds. However, I have proven I can land the ground. I propose knee protection for the falls and people to help us up.

  5. urspo,
You are one lucky man. I have one egg and am waiting on my hen to lay another for a breakfast.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
