Today, someone told me a joke over the phone. It was funny, so I laughed. Then, I was amazed because I did not turn into a real mess, choking and coughing. You probably know the feeling. Even though I am still definitely ill and have tightness in my chest, not going into a coughing choking fit was a sign of some sort of improvement. (With the coughing fit, I usually cannot see or stand.) Plus, I was not wheezing last night as I lay down to sleep.
I think the KFC gravy helped me immensely. Every time I have KFC gravy, I get better. Maybe it is the 17 herbs and spices. Nope, I will not try to figure out what is in the gravy.
It is 74 F, and I can laugh. I am still coughing occasionally but I can laugh without feeling like I am going to pass out from coughing. .
I had strawberries today. And, leftover spaghetti. I hope you have leftovers so you don't have to cook.
I can laugh.
Your turn
Have you ever had spells of coughing that take your breath away? Do you love leftover spaghetti?
KFC gravy? Ugh... I don't think that makes anyone get better. Then again, the marvels of modern medicine never cease...
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
I remember a few times getting up in the night to cough so many times in a row that I felt dizzy and doubled over. I think I finally went to the doctor and it was a touch of bronchitis or something.
444,
ReplyDeleteOnly as I sat at KFC, reading the signs did the herbs and spices give me a clue as to what made me feel better.
I do that too, get dizzy and doubled over. I have chronic bronchitis. Once in a grocery store as I pushed a cart, only having the cart kept me from collapsing as everything was stars as I coughed so long.
Yes, I have had those coughing fits. And coughing fits that went on so long I threw up.
ReplyDeleteAnd wouldn't treat them with KFC (whose secret herbs and spices are mostly salt I believe).
Love that you are finally improving a bit.
EC,
Deletelol.. don't disillusion me. I think it is magic...lol. I don't depend entirely on KFC gravy! I am still terribly weak and don't have much energy. But, I am slowly improving. Thank you.

DeleteI love every form of spaghetti! I had whooping cough once (as an adult) and it took months to stop coughing. I bet I would have felt better sooner with that gravy too...
ReplyDeleteAlex,
DeleteThere are times I could eat spaghetti every meal for a week. I can have bronchitis and it takes me six months to stop coughing. It is less than $2 for the tiny bowl. I may indulge again.
I love spaghetti, but am not crazy about leftover spaghetti unless it's eaten cold. I have been struggling with this crud that is all over Alabama. This is week 3 and I still have a lingering cough, but it gets better daily, but dang I am tired of it. Hope you are feeling better also.
ReplyDeleteAnne,
DeleteI love cold pizza but not cold spaghetti, but maybe I should try it cold. I think half the people I mention this to have had it, have it, know someone who does. It is shocking how many people have had walking pneumonia. I feel so much better after the KFC gravy. Thanks, hope you get much better, too.
I'm so glad for your good news!
ReplyDeleteWe eat leftovers regularly. I hate throwing food away.
Snowbrush,
DeleteI plan to have leftovers!
