Even though I still have remnants of Christmas, I put out St. Patrick's decoration. Yes, 'decoration' is what I have and all I want. There is a sparkly Shamrock on the front door and behind the storm door. There is no way I can transform the Christmas/Valentine tree into a shamrock tree unless I just take all the red from it and have a green tree.
Last night, I sort of slept enough. At least, I have not been sleepy today. But, I feel it coming on now...lol.
Today, we collected the three store ads. I did buy one thing I was afraid would sell out. I also took a salad back. Today was the last day. When I ate it with the tuna on top, I had to pick out all the brown pieces. Well, I suppose I could have eaten it. The rigid stalk where the plant grows into the ground was also in the bag. Romaine usually lasts longer than a few days. I opened the bag, shook out what I wanted, squeezed the air out and put the whole thing in a ziplock bag, squeezed the air out and took it straight to the refrigerator again. Weird.
We shopped for otc meds we don't want to worry about finding or finding at an exorbitant price. I am not sure what the results of Trump's shenanigans will be. I was so exhausted that I cancelled grocery shopping today.
I also bought two nightgowns. For Tommy, I bought 3 pair underwear. He sleeps in khaki pants that are too tight, outgrown and a belt. That cannot contribute to restful sleep! He swears he will not wear the pants I bought him, actually a shirt and pants. I intended to only buy pants, but sets were all that was left. He says he will just sleep in underwear which is fine with me. I asked why he does not, and he said it was too hard to get his pants off at night and on in the morning. He does struggle. So, he may get his money back. I don't know or care.
Right now, we are making dinner--shredded chicken, basil alfredo sauce, tiny jar of pimientos, package of frozen broccoli, garlic. It should be delicious. This is where having frozen bscb is handy. The hardest part has been shredding the chicken and waiting for pasta to boil.
Tommy is complaining he cannot hold his coffee without pain because of carrying in things from the car. I know he hurts. He won't use the Voltaren, so I don't know what to do. I need to get him to a doctor! He has quit refusing to go and yelling about not going.
Jupiter is brilliant tonight. I thought it was an airplane...lol. I heard the planets will align sometimes soon. I need to see when so that I don't miss the display.
Dinner is ready. Afterwards, I will make a grocery list. I think bedtime will be early tonight.
Now, I am sleepier than before eating. Oh, I have only had alfredo sauce with chicken chunks, not shredded chicken. But, this chicken was shredding when I tried to slice.
The temperature today was 79F. It is so nice out. The tulip tree across the street is starting to bud. Lots of specimen trees will bloom in a few days.
20,000 steps? Wow that's amazing! Great job!

DeleteNightgowns are sort of a thing with me. I think it’s important to have things we feel both comfortable and somewhat pretty to sleep in. I only wear white, 100% cotton, chemise length, sleeveless nightgowns, in one brand. I ask for them every Christmas, as the brand I like is rather expensive. But, I wear them every night, wash them after one wear. They last about three years, so I figure per wear, they aren’t that expensive. I am thinking of you mentioning in a previous post products that are no longer available or have changed, and that has me hoping these nightgowns don’t go anywhere!
ReplyDeleteMeg,
DeleteI still have to try them on to see if they feel right. I am the same, comfortable and pretty. There are certain colors and patterns I pass by.
Meg,
ReplyDeleteI am curious. What brand is it? Maybe you should get a three year supply right now for lean times. Lean for the supply may go away. I think many companies will change or change hands right now.
Eileen West, and I like one style (with less lace trim) better than the other. I get them from The Vermont Country Store. Or, rather, the kids get them from there for me for Christmas or birthdays.
DeleteYeah, the Shenanigans…you preacher me choir. They wanted lower prices, but the only thing he has knocked down is planes from the sky, human rights, the rule of law and democracy. The gays are now under active attack. But hey, we’re on the same side as Iran and North Korea now! Yay, us. Grrrrr.
RESIST!!!
He plans for women to be breeders for the good of the country. He will spread the problems to all of us.
DeleteHere: In case you like horror stories. Those employees Gabbars fired for using a chat room to exchange sexually explicit messages were actually using an employee resource group to talk about things like policies as they related to the LGBTQ employees.

Thanks.
DeleteNot my business, but why doesn’t Tommy sleep in a bed? That can’t be good for him, sleeping in a chair.
ReplyDeleteTwo of my kids actually have adjustable beds, and they swear they will always have adjustable beds! It happened DH insisted, when they graduated from toddler beds, they move to at least a double (full) bed, claiming twin beds were too small for an average person. When we took two of them shopping for beds (getting the bed was a planned, day off school “event” with Dad in our house) the furniture store was having a special of “free” adjustable base at the time, and that’s how that happened. It was very helpful when they had stuffy noses, and the kid who had the emergency appendectomy really appreciated it in his recovery. In any case, how are you enjoying your adjustable bed? DH and I have one, but I keep forgetting the option is there, unless DH complains of back/hip pain. Then, I raise the foot a bit, and that helps him(and doesn’t bother me, as I am short, so my legs don’t reach the raised portion!) All this to say maybe you could gently suggest one to your friend? I know he can take offense though.
Finally, the Shamrock tree sounds cute! I have a Shamrock quilt. I think i am also going to cut some cardstock Shamrocks out with my Cricut, and string them across the gas fireplace mantle. I think St. Patrick’s Day is an overlooked holiday.
He cannot sleep in a bed. When we go to a motel, he has to have a bed to himself and my pillows. I bring my own pillow anyway. He must be bent because he cannot straighten knees and hips.
DeleteI hate this bed. It is no longer flat and smooth, just hard little lumps. Plus, there is a huge hole in the middle, making it hard to lie on back. It hurts my knees to sleep in any position.
The tree would just be a Christmas tree without ornaments!
St. Patrick did not chase snakes from Ireland since there were none! So, maybe he does not deserve a holiday. jk
So the mattress is bad, but the adjustable base is good? What type /brand of mattress is it?
DeleteMeg,
DeleteThe mattress is a joke. I suppose the base is good, but not what I ordered. Not sure of brand. I will post it when I get out info.
I wouldn't use the Voltaren either. (It's real name is diclofenac) Too many "contraindications" including some dire ones (stroke and heart attack in patients with diabetes). It doesn't to all that much anyway as a NSAID. It's another junk prescription -- meaning one that you are prescribed just for the docs to appease the patient. It's not much different than Ibuprofen or Naproxen --- which are over-the-counter.
ReplyDeleteI have had BAD osteoarthritis for years -- there are good days and bad days, but the BEST thing that helps is moving -- the more I move, the more I can move. Exercise, heat, red-light therapy, and, acupuncture work the absolute best for me.
Meetsy,
DeleteI won't use my prescription, either. He has osteoarthritis. I have age-related arthritis in a few places. The doctor thought I broke my foot, as did I. He gave it to me to put on top of my foot. I hate using it, so that gives me an excuse not to do so. I have been wondering about the red light therapy. Do you do that therapy at home?
Tulip tree! I haven't seen one in ages. They are lovely in the Spring time.
ReplyDeleteUrspo,
DeleteWith the front door open, I can see a huge one across the street. It makes me so happy seeing it.
