a quarter at Walmart with price-match from Office Max
leftovers from the church dinner tonight
Actually, we had some sort of pasta and sauce with chicken in it. I only had two bites, so not great. The menu--greens, red beans, pasta and chicken, cornbread. I left my beans and cornbread. Other people contributed to the chicken's plate above. A little kid came with his own chicken nuggets and fries, so he gave me his leftovers.
The picture is not clear, but I forgot I could not set the plate on the ground and bend and stay steady. oh well
dinner is served
See how the two little ones grabbed a piece of cornbread from the plate and ran to a safe place so they would not get pecked every thirty seconds?
Your turn
How is one cent for a notebook? I use these for chronicling what ATT tells me so I can repeat it with name of agent, date, time of day, and what was said. I make grocery lists, take down numbers from voice mail, generally, using one for everything. Ten cents is the least I have ever paid until now. Don't the hens look happy? Well, you did not see the rush and gobbling and running.
One cent is an amazing price for a notebook. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the chooks enjoying their dinner too.
EC,
ReplyDelete"Amazing" is my thought, too. I could not believe my good luck. They segregate themselves for peace! I need a video of the great rush.
While I was working full time I used to receive all sorts of nice planners and notebooks as New Year gifts. I kept giving them away but I have also kept a few real nice ones for myself. Over the years I have collected a good number of nice notebooks. I work part-time now and I use these notebooks for taking notes during meetings. Many people use their computers to take notes but, I still prefer my hand-written notes. I have not paid even a penny for any kind of notebook for many years now. However, a penny is a steal for the notebooks you've got. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHow many eggs per week/month do you collect from your hens? Can you consume them all?
T'Pol,
DeleteThose are probably very nice books you have, not just notebooks. It is good you kept some for your own use.
I did get about 10 each week from the two that are old enough to lay. But, Patsy Cline stays upset about the little ones. She practically quit laying when they came. It took her about 10 days to lay an egg after I put them in the pen.
I can consume ten eggs or freeze them for the month they won't lay this winter. I give some away to a guy who puts out my garbage each week. Then, after I gave them to him last week, I broke four eggs in the egg bowl. sigh So, for a day or two, I did not have enough to use freely. I am going to bake some brownies for the guy who take the garbage can to the road, so I use them one way or another. To answer the question, I am now getting about six eggs per week.
I'll be surprised if I get notebooks for less than $1 each for back to school... Good buy!
ReplyDeleteMy whole flock does that- grab and run- lol. They cackle and carry on at the same time as they're running away. It's fun to watch.
Wendy,
DeleteThis is why I can mail school supplies to my daughter in NYC. Thanks.
Yes, it is fun to watch them as they carry on. Patsy Cline lets Thelma go first. Then, the little ones know no better and rush in. Patsy Cline hangs back. You can see the disgust. Sometimes, she looks at me like she wants me to make the little ones behave. They upset her so that she does not lay well. I don't much like her, so she better start laying!
Great job! I use notebooks for my weekly planner. I have my calendar that is has all the stuff for the month and then my notebook is for every little thing that I need to do for the day. I couldn't survive without it!
ReplyDeleteGreat price for the notebooks. Our schools require composition books, as they are sturdier. They ask for college ruled, but those are about $3/each, and each of my two middle schoolers needs 12!! Wide ruled are 3/$1.98 at Rite Aid this week, with a $1.00 Up reward for every 3 you buy! I purchased 12 on my Rewards card, and will use db's for 12 more. Fortunately, our teachers are not pedantic when it comes to things like this. Wide rule paper is fine. (And, considering they don 't teach penmanship, it should be...)
ReplyDeleteMeg,
DeleteThe composition books are a quarter, wide or college ruled. Do you have a WM nearby? At least Rite aid gives you ups.
And that should be "Dh 's "...no idea who db is! So glad you are back, by the way.
ReplyDeleteMeg,
DeleteThanks. It is good to be back.
This is the time of year when I snag every school supply bargain I can snag. But one cent? You can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteOur area is having a back to school tax free weekend, and usually, this is when I see the bargains come out locally. Crossing my fingers.
