Slept in chair Tuesday night and got in bed near dawn and slept until 1 pm. I sleep well with oxycodone/percoset. I started out in bed, but new pains all over set it. Parts of my body hurt that never hit the porch.
The thumb and three nails on my right hand were destroyed into the quick. They hurt, too. Only middle finger escaped unscathed.
Tommy scrubbed two monster sweet potatoes and I trimmed and oiled them. He baked them forever in the oven. We had baked chicken. He opened a can of green beans. Dinner was filling, delicious, and did not hurt my stomach.
We went to gather the ads, bought nothing. I tried not to hurt too much. We delivered the prescriptions beforehand, and they were ready before we came home. I took one percocet and slept well. I was afraid I would fall taking it. I was not dizzy at all.
Lyft driver was from Senegal. We had an interesting conversation. NOT! He spoke French. He refused money, card, anything. Tommy gave him $10 for a tip. We had no idea the charge, so unsure about tip. He grinned and seemed happy.
Arm hurts. Gotta go.
Feel better and rest. Did you take a Lyft instead of Tommy driving? - didn't understand that.
ReplyDeleteI took an ambulance both times.
DeleteOxycodone is a wonderful medication for pain relief. Rather than diminishing my life through its opioid effects, it allowed me to actually go about my day to day life until my condition was resolved. My only caveat is the one that I was given: It is so good at pain relief it may trick you into thinking you are better than you actually are, which leads to the very real risk of causing further damage by overdoing it. In other words, make sure you take it easy!
ReplyDeleteThe doctor pressed me to take it. So, I did. I told him I never take the stuff. He very gently pressed me saying I would get better faster. Nice guy.
DeleteHave you ever put them in the electric pressure cooker or i the air fryer. Works really great in both. Much faster in the pressure cooker though no crispy skin. No oil need for pressure cooker or air fryer. Unless ya' want.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you need oil at oil I used Tbsp of oil. My neighbor taught me that. I would not use anything but the oven.
DeleteI'm glad you were able to get some good sleep with the oxy/Percocet. I had to take oxy last weekend after my second knee surgery. I didn't have to take any after my first one. I'm done now though, out of that awful pain and just tolerable now. Tylenol can handle it from here on out. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got it done.
DeleteI do enjoy a well-baked sweet potato a couple of times a year. I like them savory, though, with salt/pepper/butter. No marshymallows or brown sugar, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your fingers and nails. I know that when I've got a hangnail or papercut, it drives me bonkers. Don't like my fingers not working/feeling properly! Hope they heal soon!
Sue,
DeleteI only use a tad of butter.
They are all wonky!
Hopefully each day is just a tiny bit easier than the one before. Recovery can be so frustrating
ReplyDeleteIt should get better each day.
