13,350 steps
I know 37F is not very warm, but compared to overnight temperatures, 37F is a warmup.
Last night, Tuesday, I did steps, then OT suggested I do more because I was shoding' to let her know when her time is up! She keeps leaving earlier and earlier.
I was so tired and frustrated, I just did not want to do more steps after she was leaving after only 30 minutes. She is having trouble at home. I want to get a timer that makes a 'ding' to keep her working until it dings.
I may have done more steps.
She showed me a picture of a scantily clad woman to whom her husband had sent money several times, claiming it was his brother's girlfriend. hmmm He always has to go to town where the girl lives. So, she kicked him out. I feel sorry for her. She does not have her mind on my problems right here and her work. I don't mind at all her talking about her problems. I will commiserate with her like I did last night. She does not 'need' him to support her, so that is good. I almost called her to make sure she made the 90-minute drive safely.
At any rate I did not pedal more on Tuesday night.
Tuesday night, I looked online at Publix ad. There were four things 'chosen just for you.' There was a2milk, Nature's Own Honey Wheat bread, Coke, and something I forgot. Publix bscb was $5.49 bogo, so almost rock bottom for bscb. Yes, I do buy and eat all four items. So, Publix is watching me. I did buy all those items and a few more. Then, we got the other two ads and did not hang around the store to buy more.
When I awoke Wednesday morning, I was so hot, like fire. I came down the hall trying to figure out why I was so very hot. I sat in my chair, uncovered with only a summer nightgown on my body, rather than a jacket and blanket as usual. Finally, my body turned icy. Then it was time to cover up. I think the two wool blankets, flannel sheets, and bedspread overheat me. But, I am only staying warm until I am overheating. Maybe it was a hot flash.
I sent Tommy into CVS to use a 40% off any full-price item coupon. He got a Revlon lipstick for me--Pink in the Afternoon. The lipstick was about $7 instead of $11 and change. It seems all my lipstick has disappeared, probably under the car seat,
When I went to hatch to let guy put groceries back there, I discovered someone had hit the car. !!! I suppose this is to be expected. The mark in sort of a scrap about 6 Inches by 12 inches, definitely hit.
Do you have every scrape, ding, and dent repaired?
Oh no on your car! That is awful. 😢
ReplyDeleteSometimes I will get hot like that when my blood sugar is low. It may be our body warning us that something is off.
You got some good deals at Publix. I still have to look at the sale ads for this week.
Belinda,
DeleteI was pretty disgusted. Usually one of us is in the car.
That is a symptom I have never heard of happening. I will try to be aware. Thanks.
I won't be buying bscb at that price. I thought it was bogo.
If that scantily clad woman didn't live in the next town over, I would sincerely hope it was a big beefy guy sitting in a call centre in Nigeria catfishing him! I think my Danish BIL got caught out like that (thankfully he is past history)!
ReplyDeleteTreaders,
DeleteI wonder. Maybe he is sending all this money to her, but that is not really who he is seeing. She said he has cheated before.
If you have a store card they track everything you buy. Boy, that is super expensive for BSCB here. I buy when at $2 lb. or less. That happens pretty frequently.
ReplyDeleteI won't be buying that. I thought it was bogo!
DeleteQuestions: The work she is doing with you sounds more PT than OT. Does she have you do other exercises too? (And don’t feel compelled to answer, because that is a personal question.)
ReplyDelete2) How was she referred to you? I ask because her behavior is beyond unprofessional, and her agency should know about it.
Interesting fact in our situation of home health: The RN who visited us for two weeks at the start of and then for the last two weeks of his treatment wound up also caring for my close friend who needed wound care from fileting an appendage while gardening. (Long story, but don’t cut your shin, even if you are a marathon runner.) I knew he was seeing her, she knew he was seeing my husband, but never once did we hear that from him!!! He wouldn’t even comment on this really unique and gorgeous appliance in her house!
Meg,
ReplyDeleteShe came as part of the home health agency. Yes, she gives me exercises to do, but not many.
What unique and gorgeous appliance in her house. Is that a joke?
No. Not a joke. It is a very unique piece, so much so that it’s very identifying, so I won’t put it here to respect her privacy.
DeleteSilly games?
DeleteGrrrt…lost my response. If this is a duplicate, apologies! Not sure what you mean by “silly games.” My friend has a common household appliance which is not only functional, but serves as a focal point of the home. You can’t miss it. When RN showed up for an appointment here, he had just come from her house, and I knew because she had phoned me when he left! I mentioned he had just seen my dear friend and as uncomfortable as the procedure was, she really liked him. He smiled and “well. Thank you, but SHE can talk about my visits to her, I can’t” Then my husband said, “Isn’t that [blank] beautiful?” He said words to the effect of again, if he could comment, he would say how stunning it was, but he couldn’t so he wouldn’t, and this knowing full well we were close friends! I mention this because it shows a level of professionalism I think you are being deprived of. I can’t imagine ANY member of his team, even the PT I wasn’t wild about, behaving the way you describe your OT behaving. She is there to help you, not the other way around!
ReplyDeleteNever mention something that you cannot mention! I always end of being support for people who are being paid to support me. I hate that even though I really want to be helpful.
ReplyDeleteShe just said I could…a cast iron woodstove insert in a Delft tiled mantle/fireplace with a gorgeous cast iron door. Hilarious in that when we moved out here all those years ago, that house was on the market and DH wanted it for that reason. Not enough bedrooms, though.
DeleteIn any case, you need to call the agency if her behavior continues. There are (in this state, anyway) well defined ethic codes for caregivers. Those include not sharing personal information like she did…oh, they can talk about what they cook, how their hummingbird feeders are doing, even about perhaps getting a flat tire or their kid missing the bus. They can’t trauma dump.
That sounds beautiful.
ReplyDeleteObviously, people take me for a sympathetic Listener. This happens to me all the time. I don't mind, just give me all my time and the extra spent during my session.
