The nurse came, the one Tommy described as 'rough.' The visit went well. She put lotion on my lower legs and feet. I cannot reach that far. Vitals were good.
I saw cleaner. She approached me and wanted to know what was up. She said I never answer or call her back. She said she left messages. My inbox is full, so, NO. I told her so. She swears I never ever called her or left a message. YES, I did. So, with her failure to admit she did not get calls from me, it is over for me.
With her excessive texting and her daughter and boyfriend here all the time, sitting outside and texting her, I am definitely over her 'help.' They were out in driveway cleaning out boyfriend's car. The daughter (19) ends up in house talking to mother when mother is supposed to be cleaning. The bf ended up at door, but I did not invite him in!
I am slowly filling all dates preordained. Tommy and I both keep a day planner, but we keep the other's information.
My neighbor has had bronchitis and RSV. She brought home four prescriptions and had been banned from going to children's houses to see grandchildren's Christmas toys. I was asking her to come over where I was in car, but told her for my sake and hers to stay home.
Since I slept almost three hours on Thursday night, I was desperate today for a nap-three hours.
We cannot get out the red boxes for Christmas decorations. We have one she left out, so it will all go into that. Of course, we will start next Christmas very disorganized, I think when I get someone to help me, I will make organizing Christmas a task I will pay to have done when it is finished.
Now, it is time to do the lymphedema therapy.
Robins have acted like it is spring. There are thousands of dandelions all about. There are none is our yard, though. Today, we saw a bluebird in the yard. Nature does not know there will be very cold weather this next week.
When we do lymphedema therapy and I use the pedal machine, I spend 5 hours in therapy/exercise! So far, it is paying off. Tommy can see torso is slimmer and my face. Even my double chins are getting fewer and smaller. Of course, the weight loss happened earlier.
Okay, apple pie is on its way.
How many hours do any of you spend in exercise or physical therapy? If you don't want to say, no problem.
Have you seen many robins and bluebirds this year? Are dandelions in bloom where you live?
Right now I am doing one hour on my bicycle pedals, and one hour on my lymphedema pump. And due to my knee replacement, I spend at least an hour on this machine that lifts my knee up and down. And I have an ice machine I have to put on it when I am laying down for 30 minutes or more, so I sleep with it on all night all night. Whew! 😂
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the cleaner. She needs to learn that she cannot be texting like that when she is supposed to be working!
I hope your neighbor gets well soon. You need to stay away from her until she is well. You and Tommy do not need to get sick right now.
Belinda,
DeleteYou spend many hours working on therapy, too.
The cleaner has a sad thing in her past. I was understanding of her needing to talk with kids. But, when she tries to hide it, she knows she is not supposed to talk all the time.
Oh, we have been too sick to get around her. I even told her not to come over like I asked.
Bicycle pedals? Just a set of pedals? I thought about those. I wish I could actually ride a bike outdoors.
Belinda,
DeleteI accidentally deleted your comment. Can you replace it?
My husband had PT after his stroke and it helped some, even though the PT was , in my opinion, the least efficient of his team. Actually, it was really a PT assistant he saw most regularly. He only saw the actual PT about 3 times during those 6 months, for assessments, and each and every time she tried to release him to outpatient care, and the OT, speech therapist and I had to push back. Gah, I despised her. And I got the feeling the rest of the team wasn’t wild about her either. If PT went outpatient, so did they, and the nearest OT and speech therapists were over 4 miles away…and he needed 4x’s/week and hadn’t been cleared to drive. In fact, he hadn’t even mastered using a cane! And OT and speech therapist were adamant he was nowhere ready for release. Plus, PT kept mispronouncing my name. In any case, what really got him better was the OT work, especially because he was willing to keep up with the exercises at home. There were a lot of games they’d play, and often during sessions the kids and I would join in. We would do the speech therapy too..things like word searches, crossword puzzles, memory games, and chess…which I don’t play well at all! That was another kid’s purview!
ReplyDeleteAll this to say, it was a long, hard road of recovery, but it pays off, so keep up the good work!
I definitely have favorites in the staff. When the guy came from PT on Thursday, he was going to dismiss me! I was shocked. Considering it has been years with this coming on, I cannot imagine how four sessions with therapy would have 'cured' me.
Delete40 miles, not 4. Typo
DeleteMeg,
DeleteThat is a significant difference. I was thinking 4 miles was not much.
