Fall Already?

Yesterday, I lay in bed and watched leaves falling from the hickory nut tree outside my window. The early falling of the leaves usually happens late August. Are weather things strange at your place?

At 6 pm, it was 56 F degrees! It should have been 80+. Today, I got up in time to tutor. Just being in the library made me want to run screaming from the place. I was totally uninspired to do algebra.

A woman came up to me and asked if I were tutoring the same boy who laughed the whole time last week. I told her I was waiting for him. She said she wanted to come over and smack him on the head. We talked for about fifteen minutes as I waited for him to get out of the bathroom. It turns out, I probably have a new child to tutor, a little girl in 5th grade who was just now diagnosed as having autism. The woman had noticed how I interacted with the recalcitrant teen. He is coasting now with less than five days of school left.

Then, I drove to the doctor. I saw an entirely different doctor today, and I just love him. He gave me another prescription and two injections. Cortisone injections seem to help my sinuses. Plus, a new antibiotic in the behind. I hope my allergist can end this round of infections.

Your turn
Do you have or have you had such a horrid problem with sinus problems caused by allergies? Is the weather unseasonably cool at your house?

    1. Jckiesue,
Locally, there are many people in my condition! Otherwise, I would wonder about my system. That is a lot of rain. I am allergic to mold spore, so rain is not my friend. Good luck with your allergy fight.

    1. tlc,
The allergy misery seems to be nationwide! It is unusual weather, but we don't expect rain in this part of the state until late Sunday or Monday night. Not May here.

  3. Since I have the same weather as you the answer is yes! How did it go from hot and steamy in the morning to a fall like night?

    1. Anne,
It was just plain weird. I kept asking myself that question. I went to the store that night and almost froze.

    1. EC,
One year spring bulbs opened in fall because it got cool and then unnaturally warmed in Dec. With extra meds, allergies should lighten, I HOPE! Thanks

  5. Hi Linda...this time ofyear is usually miserable because of pollen, but this year it does not seem so bad so far. My eyes are itchy and dry but my nose is not dripping. We had a few very hot days earlier this month but now it's cooler than normal, in fact a low of 40 tonight. The days are better for yard work but I know nothing grows until the nights are warmer I sure hope you shake this plague and start feeling better.

    1. carol,
I'm glad you are not suffering. Actually, my eye itching is not happening for me. It seems the sinus and lung problem is my problem. A cool day is my choice for yard work. I think we will be in 40s here tonight. It is a plague! Thanks

  6. It only got into the high 80s today, so I guess I'll have to throw an extra log on the fire.
