Well, I am sitting here at McD, trying to post. that's not happening. My internet was cut off, something about not making a payment since May, so this saga continues. I do make payments, but there is no way to tell where they put the payments. By Tuesday I will have Charter. The Charter guy annoyed me so, acting like it was dumb not to bundle. And, asking me why I don't have a home phone. I didn't tell him I had MagicJack because he was so annoying. I did tell him I had an outdoor antenna--three times! Yet, he still badgered me about bundling and get Charter TV.
I asked him a direct question. He said, "Oh, there is no use trying to explain that because it would just confuse you." I told him that was not a good think to say to anyone, especially a woman. Then, I asked for a supervisor who was nicer, still sighing because I would not knuckle under. At least there is no contract with this.
ATT will get their money I owe--$5 each month.
I may buzz around a few blogs or not. Sitting here makes me want to cry because of the pain.
Since I cannot, for some reason, post a picture, I will just stop and not talk about chickens.
Your turn
If you have Charter, have you had problems with customer service or with the reception itself?
Sales assistants like that make me grit my teeth until my face hurts. Condescending, patronising oxygen thieves.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself - and I hope the pain has eased off (at least a bit).
EC,
DeleteI wonder if people have always been this way, or am I just becoming less tolerant in my old age...lol. No, sitting here made me hurt most of the day. I am back at McD. Thanks.
I have no idea what Charter is but I hope you get your internet back soon!
ReplyDeleteLL,
DeleteIt's an internet provider. Me too!
Charter has a real nasty reputation up this way. Shysters personified! "Crooks & Liars" yet it's hard to find the opposite of that these days, probably impossible. It's all about greed/ moneyhoney!
ReplyDeleteSissy,
DeleteMy only consolation is that I am under no contract. I am trying to figure out how to get internet service from the library, two blocks away. It seems there ought to be some sort of booster out there. I really don't need AT&T back for sure.
I had centurylink somehow apply my payment to someone else's account once. I think I was on the phone with them for two hours.
ReplyDeleteIn general, I dislike salesmen. Too pushy for me. I've never heard of charter, I hope they work out great for you.
Michelle,
DeleteATT refused to tell me what the problem was, but with my proof the money came out of my account and was taken by them, they were a little nicer but not faster. I do abhor pushy salespersons.
I don't know anything about Charter, but I feel your pain, literally and figuratively. My back was awful yesterday and everything else hurts today. I fought with DirecTV a few years ago because my DVR didn't work properly. Every damn time I called, I would get someone who said I wasn't using the DVR correctly and I was trying to record too many programs at the same time. I said, I know how to use a DVR. If they sent a technician to my house to see what was wrong (which was MY fault), the charge would have been astronomical. I finally got rid of them and ordered AT&T U-verse, which has worked well for me. When the AT&T guy hooked up everything, he told me that the DirecTV DVR would only record one show because the second connection wasn't hooked up. I don't think I'll ever get over hating DirecTV. When I finally got my health insurance, they screwed up my payments for about three months and kept insisting it was my fault. I called my credit union. They said it was the insurance company's fault because they were coding the payments as if they were to come out of my savings account instead of checking. No matter how many times I told the insurance company that they were coding it incorrectly, they insisted that they didn't get my payments because my account couldn't be located. No one would listen to me! I fixed it myself by starting over and redoing all the payment information. It went through that time, and I haven't had any more trouble. Please pardon my tirade, but I so get what you're talking about.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Janie,
DeleteNo problem with a tirade. All the companies want to act like it is the customer's fault. That does not help me at all in my dealings with them. It is a shame you have to work so hard when it was their fault. When I got rid of DirectTv, they did not like it and told me to get the dish antenna down and mail it to them. I told them that I was charging storage on it, and that they would pay storage if I were harassed again. Guess what? I never heard another word!
I am sitting at McD, paralyzed with pain! It never quit from yesterday. I will have to come out on Monday to use the computer. Tuesday, I can lie to type. I hope your pain gets better.
Linda (and Janie), there is nothing that makes me hotter under my lace trimmed collar than the condescending tone of a rep who thinks he will get my money in the end game. Even more frustrating - when you have to deal with them because of limited options.
ReplyDeleteWhat really burns my buns is the fact that they think we are stupid and can't see past the screen door marketing push they are trained to dish out. Do any of them really think I'm buying any of their bunk about "what is best" for ME?
I hope you both have a better day! <3
I'm fine today, thanks. I know it's tough on Linda to live without internet. I get so tired of the lies that salespeople tell me. I see a lot of people complaining about AT&T. I had some trouble with them a few months ago, but other than that, my experience with them has been excellent. I like my U-verse, and the internet works just fine.
DeleteI think the trick to dealing with AT&T is to go to one of their stores and get to know the people who work there. I don't do well when I try to deal with them over the phone.
