October Caught up with Me

Since October is the month I became ill for years, I thought I was beating October this year.

NO!

Tomorrow (Today, Saturday) may be the day I go to Urgent Care. My face hurts, the temp is debilitating. The cough is ripping me apart. The expectorant is finally working, but not enough for much relief.

Today, exbf was here to help me out. Even making a meatloaf, cooking carrots, and opening a can of green beans was difficult for me.

I actually worked two mystery shops and an online money maker. We ended up using a coupon and getting $.50 cokes from a machine--$4.67 lunch. That was two juicy hamburgers and two cokes...good deal for me.

Now is time for Sudafed, generic; guaifenesin; Halls's mentholyptus; and chicken broth.

Your turn
Are you battling sinus/allergy/chest problems? Are you winning like I thought I was?

  1. Geez, sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon!

My only problem I ever have is insomnia. I can't ever recall ever sleeping more than 6 hours a night, even as a child--That's normal for me. But, when I get into these "bouts" of insomnia, it drops to 3 hours a night. That's hard to deal with....

    1. Sue,
Try practicing sleep hygiene and Natrol Melatonin 3mg with B6.

I know what you mean about the "bouts." Thankfully, at this point in my life, I rarely have to get up at a certain time. Being more flexible helps.

Things are "turning loose," but the high temp remains. I will decide by evening if I need a doctor.

    1. Sue,
I think I am going to the doctor in a few minutes. Yes, I depend on him.

  3. I don't have such problems, but Peggy does. Her's are mostly in the Spring, but she takes prescription pills for it year round, this following several years of allergy shots.

    1. Snowbrush,
Mine are year round, too. But, Spring and Fall are worse. I am set to have allergy tests soon. Years ago, I took allergy shots. It may be time for another few years.

  4. I had a course of desensitising injections when allergies started to take over my life.
Just the same, I find the start of each season a challenge - my body doesn't seem to cope well with big temperature swings. So... while autumn and spring are beautiful, they are also difficult.
I hope you get relief soon. Very soon.

    1. EC,
I can start sneezing when I walk from one room to the other and the temperature difference is just a slight difference. Spring and Fall with blooming then leaves falling get me going! I have to have relief soon...yes, very soon. Thanks.

  5. The last person who was around me with an "allergy" caused me four trips to the doctor, three rounds of antibiotics, and a nebulizer. ONE MORE WHO SAYS THEY HAVE " just an allergy" is going to get my shoe up their A$$. You have bronchitis and a sinus infection.

    1. Lotta,
I so agree with you. An allergy started it all, but the congestion caused by the allergy trapped nastiness in my sinuses. Allergies are the beginning of many nasty infections.

My first drips and sneezes are caused by an allergy and not harming me. This condition right now IS caused by my allergies but has progressed to major infection and those germs can be passed on to innocent people.

One time I was so ill but had to go get food from the store. I staggered up to the fast lane. Right in front of me was the pediatrician I took my children to and he was holding two-year-old grandchild. I stood six feet from him, covered my mouth and croaked at him, "I am very ill and have a high temperature. Take the child far from me." He actually ran, thanking me sincerely and multiple time. His daughter was in front of me. I told her I had no one to shop for me and apologized profusely. I had the kinds of things an ill person buys, not the week's groceries. I could have kept my mouth shut, but it seemed cruel and selfish to do so.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
