It was a good idea

easily mounted scales

This baby was not cheap, I am sure. However, it is broken or the batteries need to be changed. This was in the lobby of the surgery center I went to on Wednesday for pre-surgery tests for Thursday surgery.

I like the wide base for standing. I love the grab bars Getting onto scales in the hallway of the doctor's office is very difficult for me. One doctor's office had the grab bars attached to the wall. That's not scary at all.

The scales above even figure your BMI. Neat.

Your turn
Is this type of scales common in your area?

  1. I haven't seen them - and they look brilliant. My doctor has scales on the floor - with no support and nothing to hang onto. My wobbly self just isn't safe.

    1. EC,
Thank you! The nurses act like I should just hop on.

  2. My doctor had a scale that was just a SMALL platform and everything was electronic. I'd think the kind your doctor has is brilliant. There are a lot of people that could benefit from having bars to hang on to.

    1. Sue,
I guess this one would take up too much real estate! Bars everywhere would be nice to hang on to. Thank you for confirming what I have thought for years.

  3. My grocery store has a large scale similar to this, with the grab bars. Of course, using it requires weighing oneself right next to the produce section. I haven't seen a scale with grab bars in a doctor's office, but I haven't seen a doctor in quite sometime.

    Love,

    1. Janie,
I would not mind weighing myself next to the produce if it did not have the huge dial face that allows others to see...lol. I hope staying away from the doctor is in your best interest.

    2. I don't go to the doctor unless it's absolutely necessary because my "insurance" covers so little.

  4. First of all, I have no idea why links to my posts are on your site. Not intentional and I'm not that desperate for attention. I quite like being a um, well-kept secret.

I was trying to weigh up your article. I've never seen scales like that in England. And no, I'm not going to go into fish puns and say, on a scale of one to ten, a halibut is a ten.

    1. Gary,
You never fail to make me smile, and then I laugh for hours, on and off.

    2. Oh, I try to never get on a scale! I get obsessed with trying to achieve a certain weight and I can't focus on anything else! I just know that when my pants start to get a little tight I need to either lay off the snacks or exercise more!! :-)
      How are you feelin'?

    3. Lily,
When I lose weight, part of my plan is weighing every day. I need the daily gauge. The pants are a good way to determine weight, too. Another post coming up. Thanks for asking.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
