This Is Just Not Right!

It is almost noon, the middle of August in Alabama, and it's only 62 F with 84% humidity. I need some dry temperatures of over 100 F. It has rained every day for five weeks! Stop!

The weather has not been this cool or wet since 1977. All three of my children stayed ill with a virus that summer. Every time we started to leave the house for grocery shopping or the pool, anything, one of them started throwing up. They each had this over and over for almost three months. I don't miss that summer at all.

Your turn
Is this weather driving you crazy?

This is five weeks worth of rain. But, I am glad you can catch up on cleaning.

    1. Rat,
Well, we both could use something between our two extremes. The high humidity causes such congestion in my head that I have nosebleeds. I only want ten days over 100. I really do like a "dry" heat...lol. Two months might be just a tad too long at that temperature.

  4. In Indiana, I had four seasons to gripe about the weather. That's one thing I don't miss. Here, it's been 94 with an air feeling of 113. Can hardly breathe!!

Every day at 4pm, we have a thunderstorm that cools things down immediately. But suddenly, Beau is now afraid of thunder. It used to not bother him at all!

    1. lotta joy,
There were four seasons here last year. Now, it is just one long humidity fest.

That rain everyday is horrid. But, if it cools you down, maybe not. Maybe Beau noticed it comes regularly, so has a chance to get nervous beforehand. Tell him none of us understand, either.

  5. While it was nice to turn the ac off.....it makes me worry about how bad this winter could be! Last night in Philly it was a balmy 65 degrees

    1. Judy S,
I thought about that. It was cooler than that down here in Alabama. Maybe it will be a mild winter like last winter. Let's hope it is not severe.

  6. Welcome to typical Nova Scotia weather, Linda! Awful isn't it? The humidity I mean. The temperature itself is great. Anything 25*C and above is too hot for me. But the sticky weather is no fun. I hope it ends for you soon.

    1. I would NOT like Nova Scotia weather at all! I was cold today and wore a COAT! Plus, there was this mist that was invisible until it settled on the windshield and me.

  7. You need over 100?! Whoa. I came to Oregon partly to escape that Southern heat. Here, we get ten days a year of over 90, and that's way too hot for me.

    1. Snowbrush,
When the heat is over 100, the humidity is usually about 17%, and weeds and pollen are less. My allergies subside. We only get about 10 days in a row, then the extreme heat is gone.

Neither extreme heat or extreme rain and low temps are good for garden and crops!

      I need some sun today.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
