Serendipitous Deal on Orville's Popcorn

12 x $1
3 bags in each box

marked down from clearance price of $3 to $1

Sounds healthy?
tasted much better

I was in another town and stopped to go into a grocery. These 12 boxes were on clearance. The original price was $3.69. After receiving an order of something they did not carry, the 12 boxes were reduced to $3 each. I asked if I bought all 12, could I have them for $1 apiece.

YES

These will be included in CARE packages to grandson away at college when I have free shipping at USPS. So, this is a better deal than I could have imagined. Exbf will get two boxes.

Your turn

  2. That's very wise. If you find something you want on sale buy it by the case. I do that when we make a big journey across the state line to a store that sells case lots really cheap. Good for you.

    1. Harry,
I even bought coffee though I do not drink coffee, some for daughter and some a friend asked me to buy. Wow, I am now wondering where case lots are cheap and in what state. Thanks.

    2. Well, I go to North Carolina to a store called "Grocery Outlet." They buy up overstocks. I like Rotel peppers and tomatoes. A can at our local store costs about $1.39 but I can get a can there for half a dollar if I buy a 24 can case. They don't always have the same things so you just go and see what they have you like. I once got those really good Oscar Meyer beef hotdogs, the "New York" style ones, for a dollar a pack when they were over four dollars at Walmart. I take a cooler and when I find something like that I buy a lot of it and put it in the deep freezer at home.

Some people go to Sam's Club but the nearest one is way too far to drive to for me.

    1. Try it. Tell them you will take all at a certain price. YOU name the price or they will only lower the price a little bit. Besides, it has a sound of assurance to it.

No matter what the reduced or original price, I offer "$1 if I buy all on the shelf." Let me know if you try it and it works. It also helps that I go in there all the time and have for years. But, I would not hesitate to do it in a strange place.

Two have gone home with exbf. That means 10 boxes or 30 popcorn bags for a college student to eat before the end of November. These just came in the store. That is a good date in my book.
