Bride in the Bushes; Wild Animal on Sidewalks

"don't smile"
That is what the lady with the camera said.  I saw a bride and two women headed across the street into a weedy lot. My curiosity got the better of me, I circled around with camera in hand and asked them why they were taking her picture in a weedy lot downtown.

"Oh, we have taken pictures in all sorts of horrible, trashy places today."  Color me stunned. "But, we have taken pictures of beautiful places, too." They surely saw the relief and my brow quickly unfurrow. I have to quit that contemplative or sad look, because the wrinkles are sticking right between my eyebrows. Besides, I don't look sexy and vulnerable like Jennifer Aniston does when she furrows her cute little brow. I am going to need botox there if I don't quit it.

gorgeous hair

strange poses

She married June 8, 2013 and came out today with her mother and photographer for these pictures. If this is a trend, I am way behind the times.

Now for the wild animal acting civilized

He went to the door, stood and looked in, looked some more, looked around, and decided to keep going. It was almost as though he decided no one was home, so he would just keep going. I wonder if the city employees in these offices had fed him. He just trotted right down the middle of the alley like this was his old stomping grounds.

I spotted this animal on the west side of the block and watched as it traveled up the north side,  the entire length of the side walk. In the meantime, people were working, talking, running some sort of heavy machinery, getting ready for a festival today. As I parked and got out, it went up the east alley above.

On the moving, leaving the door.

he spots me and takes to the grass and bushes
see him in front of the ac?

I think it is a ground hog. It had travelled four side of the block. I could not follow at first, then had to go around the block to find the alley.

Can you think of a good caption for the wedding gown pictures? I will have to find a prize for the winner and post the prize tomorrow. How creative can you be? Give me a good caption and tell me whether it I for #1, #2, or #3. One prize.

Your turn
Isn't it sad how easily I am amused? lol  Is this a new trend in wedding photos? Is that a groundhog?

  1. I've never heard of anybody taking pictures like that. Did they give a reason why? Can't think of a caption for the first two but for the third one....Eww....What is that?!

    1. Stacy,
I had not heard of taking pictures like those, either. But, the photographer was busy and still being nice to me, so I figured I would not ask too many questions. However, I got her name and may drop in and ask a few questions. She can tell by my camera that I am NOT going to steal her ideas.

      Good caption.

  2. As for the bride, I like the juxtaposition, which I find much sexier than I would find a bride who was posing in some utterly predictable place.

    1. Snowbrush,
Sexier? I can see that. Of course, she is just sexy anywhere, anyplace. But, I absolutely agree with you. Thanks.

  3. Slightly strange shots of the bride I agree, especially as the lighting looks weird too, but each to their own. Who am I to judge?

    I've never seen a Groundhog!

    1. LL,
I was shooting into the sun. I suppose the expert with her huge camera can compensate for that. I would never have shot into the sun, but I was just tagging along.

  4. "Help! There's something wrapped around my ankle and I can't move!"

I find it rather sweet, and maybe all the serene places were full of picnics and kids raging through.

The "groundhog?" And out during the day? Nope. Unless it was ill. I wonder what he WOULD eat?

      Funny.
She said they had shot in beautiful places, so that made me feel better.

I think the ground hog was so acclimated to people, it was not frightened. The groundhog at my house came out during the day to nibble tomatoes!

  5. " Beauty and the Weeds " She's really lovely but the backdrop doesn't do her photos justice. Maybe it was a photography experiment for the fun of it.

It looks like a groundhog . I had one a few years back climb under the hood of my car. When I came out of the store, I drove home without knowing it was in there.

That evening I heard sounds, I opened the hood cautiously and saw this groundhog eating the wiring. It took a lot to get him out of there. The garden hose finally did it.

It's life was spared ... we took it back into the hills where they had formed their habitat. Sadly for me,it cost a few beans to repair the wiring.

    1. Helga,
I didn't think about it being an experiment. That might explain it.

Eating wiring? Is it good? The cost would be very annoying to me. I wonder why it took refuge there in the first place.

    2. When they were building a new Costco, the groundhogs lost most of their habitat. They just moved back farther into the hills.

They did however march down onto the parking lot after completion, to bask in the sunshine all over the pavement.

They still do to this day, only the numbers have decreased. The one who climbed under my hood onto the engine, most likely found it warm and cozy in there.

Costco has signs posted which now state : Warning, Groundhog Territory. Please check vehicle engines before turning on ignitions.

The one we packed into the hills in a box, may well have become sick from eating the wires. We looked for it but couldn't find it. There were too many underground tunnels.

    3. Helga,
Thanks for the explanation. So, now they have lie-ins and lose their lives. I didn't think about the warmth because I have never seen a groundhog in the winter, only in the summer around here.

That is probably the only Costco that has groundhog warning signs. Interesting story. I hope it lived. That is an interesting story--sunning groundhogs. They probably were grateful for he new surface that held heat so well.

  6. I don't have a caption, but I think it makes kind of a pretty picture to have the long grass around the bride. I don't know if it's a trend.

    Love,

    1. Janie,
I was intrigued by the look, also. The weeds and bushes (yes, there were bushes) juxtaposed with the bride and gown was a look I liked.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
