I spent time in xray at ER when I went in with two very young women, one still in xray school. They tried to contort my body into positions it will not go into normally. I was amused at them when I was not in pain. They pulled out a huge piece of equipment, saying maybe they could use it. Then, they pulled out something from under the table I was on, discussing what it might be. There was lots! of giggling.
Eventually, they got film they were happy with and I was released. It was actually fun.
Today, the car was still full of water. Tommy thought the car sitting from Sunday night to Wednesday afternoon would dry it out. Of course not. We bought a dehumidifier, sat in in from seat, put hose so water could come out the window and an electrical cord to utility room. In the crack where they came from inside of car, he taped a garbage bag so bugs would not seek refuge in the car. A neighbor helped him. It took them two hours. About two hours later, lots of water had come out on driveway and yard.
I found a new mower guy. As we were in Lowe's, two young men were buying weed eater and other mowing/yard equipment. I stopped them and asked the one guy if he mowed yards. He was eager and affable. So, I got his number. I was happy with the work of the last guy, very happy. He kept me hanging, saying he wanted to buy the Impala; don't sell it; son needs car. I felt he was playing me. The cleaner I had got furious when she heard he also wanted Tommy's car. She paid for the car and signed bill of sale before she picked it up to keep him from getting it from under her, saying he had done stuff like this before to her. But, at this point, I have a new guy.
Did not find a laptop. Car dampness was more important. I just know it has started to mold, so want to dry it and sell it.
At Sam's Club, we had a hotdog/Coke Combo, $2.75 total for both.
Once again, I was wet from the car. I changed to nightgown and went to bed. Not only did shoulder hurt, but going out exhausts me. At Sam's we bought plastic cups, Tommy's allergy meds, milk. There was a whole list. Tommy left it at home.
Guy came today for mold remediation. Cannot wait. At about 2 pm on a Wednesday, the place was practically empty, lots of room to move around.
I go to doctor tomorrow.
You know I fell on right hip. Well, it hurts just a bit now. The left hip bone is smooth when I touch it. It s the widest point on my him The right hip bone is sort of jagged. I cannot imagine what happened to the right hip point. I hope my doctor has xray machine. Tomorrow will tell.
These muscle relaxers are messing with my mind! OH! just fell because of them. I fell into my chair, thankfully. They are messing with my balance, obviously. I had stopped typing, trying to stand up.
Mark Cuban suggests stocking up on several everyday items. He said that he thought stores would take advantage of the situation in order to raise prices. So, I was on the right track.
Tommy does not want me to talk at all. He is working on taxes. I have things to say...lol. I won't talk.
I did no editing.
How did water get in the car? Rain? I assume that’s what the mold remediation was for? And what place was practically empty? Lots of questions, I know!
ReplyDeleteI also know you won’t listen to, but here goes: In all my prenatal visits (years ago) with my husband’s recent hospital visits, and even when my son had his emergency appendectomy, the nursing staff asked questions about food security and transportation. When I asked the nurse what would happen if he responded that those were problems, she said she would be required to put in an order for social services to contact him to provide assistance. I don’t know why that isn’t happening with you. Now granted, I am in a pretty progressive state. Perhaps ask your regular doctor, or maybe the next time you find yourself in a hospital, tell the nurse what difficulties you face in regards to mobility. In my experience, nurses are great at providing referrals to resources. At the very least I would imagine your municipality, be it city ir county, has a commission on aging (elder services) which would be able to direct you to resources. Our municipality’s paramedics/firehouses are able to do that too. Maybe swing by the local station the next time you’re out and about and investigate?(They also schedule smoke detector battery replacements…it’s cheaper for them to send a crew to do that do that than respond to a fall!)
moon roof left open in all night rain. Sam's practically empty.

Meg you are so right about the social workers helping. Plus linda has medcaid and there are free service including transporation and home care. Linda you need to call the local office for free services. We are all paying somewhat into medcaid so use what you deserve to live.
DeleteLinda, Medicare does pay for the cost of an electric scooter, and there are all kinds of exterior lifts for them -- that are really not horribly expensive (ones that can be operated even by someone in a walker). They aren't covered by medicare, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteThat would make it easier for shopping, and medical appointments. It is worth looking into.

There are rules Idon't fit into.
DeleteMeg is right--either at the doctor's or at the hospital--ask to be put in touch with Senior Services. You need to get all the Senior resources/referrals/programs that are available in your part of the state.
ReplyDeleteNot finding it
DeletePS I cannot tell you the number of times I have woken up at 2am, heard the pouring rain, and ran out to the driveway in my nightshirt to close the car's @!#*!! moon roof!!
ReplyDeleteNow? I never open it. It's just not worth the risk, LOL!
Good luck at the doctor's tomorrow! I hope he has good news for you.
Tommy swears he never touched the moonroof. With torn rotator cuff, I cannot. If I were you, I would not open it either.
DeleteNot bad news at dr.
Oh, poor Tommy on the sun roof being open and it raining in there. I've left a window down a time or two and had it rain in my car too, which stinks. I've not been to Sam's Cub in such a long time. Odd that it was so empty
ReplyDeleteBelinda,
DeleteResponded somewhere.
I never open my sunroof but husband does. One year in Feb (we live in Midwest) he opened it and swore he closed it but when i went through car wash some water came in - I tried to close it but still got a bit wet. Went home and opened it to dry everything then it wouldn't close! Once i left it in warm garage for a while it closed. I never open sun roof - just cover to let sun in.
ReplyDeleteOne Fall, I decided to stay home on a rainy and chilly weekend. I went out Monday and found I had left the front window down. Since I never roll down windows down to drive, I never considered a window would be down. There was a reason it was down, but I forget what. I was disgusted, but atleast it was just one side of front seat. This is wet front and back, both sides.I hate a sunroof because I do not want sun or wind coming in. We will never have a sun roof again.
Deletehow did the taxes come out?
ReplyDeleteHe only finished part. Tonight, Sunday, he is finishing them.
