So Angry

Once again, Tommy is making me angry, just the most angry now. The car will not start, something about electrical system, emergency brake. He wants nearest place to fix it, never mind if that is something they do. So, now, I have to worry about the cardio who operated, appointment with him wed morning. Also need hip xray!

At 5:30, he tries to find close tow without knowing where to take it.

Car insurance says we don't have towing and he thinks we do. He probably told me he got it and did not! He saves money the inconvenient way!

I needed to get birthday card for son, oldest child and buy bogo stuff. His car is behind mine!

Slept well Fri night with spaghetti and 1 g melatonin. Usually, 1 mg does nothing.

  1. water could have gotten into multiple electric components.... and, that can be quite frustrating. It's hard to get a car completely dried out --- quickly. AS water evaporates it can cause all kinds of glitches, usually a couple of days after the EVENT.

Best to leave the window and doors open (if you have dry warm weather) and try and let it dry out more -- and on Monday, it should go to a mechanic to check out everything.

(Sadly most insurance will not cover water damage if you left the sunroof open and it rained, as it's considered your negligence, but some policies comprehensive will... you have to read the policy.)

Usually towing isn't worth it (they give you $100 bucks, at best, maybe) so no one suggests it anymore. My policies had the insurance company drop it, this year, without any notice, -- so might not be Tommy's fault.

Sometimes just getting the car totally dried out --- is all it takes, other times, they'll need to reset the electrical system (disconnect battery for a spell, then reconnect) and replace some sensors.

This happens frequently...as it's a common OOPS. But it's spilled milk at this point. When you last used the car you could have left it running -- high heat -- for a few hours, and maybe dried it out quickly... but, no guarantees. At this point...it's all frustration and upset. Don't let it get to you.

    1. meetsy,
The humidity was high the day he wanted to save money by opening doors! I suppose it will be Monday before we even get it towed, much less get it fixed. I will remain upset as date for my dr appt draws near.
He will not want to rent a car! Or get lyft or cab.

  3. Call your local council on aging for your area. Look on google for the number. They will help you with transportation to the doctor appt. Also your local medicaid office can help too. You need to put your health first.

  4. Call Clastran https://www.clastran.com/. It is not a free service but it provides curb to curb transportation for those living in Jefferson county 60+ who have disabilities. I see their vans all over the place

    2. It still might be a good idea to register with them for future appointments. That way you would not have to rely on Tommy if issues come up
