We need to get a storm door from Home Depot for front door. I also wanted to take the list to Publix and get all the specials. Plus, we need the ads from two other stores. When Tommy got into the car, all I wanted was to go home. We did. I hurt so I could not sleep.
Today was in low 60s, breezy, and dry. The sun was blazing. Tommy parks on the top deck of the parking deck. The floors below scare me to sit alone. I thought the wind that came up was going to blow me off the top deck. The car was being buffeted about. I was able to use the sunshade, and it saved me from the sun.
I had to cancel both the bath companies because I was so ill. Now, they have both called me twice in less than a week. That is so annoying. The guy said 'it will only take an hour." I told him that talking about it for three minutes was too much.
While in the car waiting, I got Publix ad checked. Then, I called looking for an Amway dealer in Cullman. No luck. I made lists and calls, so it was a good wait.
When I turned the radio on in the car on Sunday, 96.5 had Christmas music. One day, Casey Kasem was reprised, and we enjoyed one of his programs.
Then, I could not sleep. My legs hurt and my feet had gotten very hard and tight. So, Tommy did my therapy with the leg pumps. Now, my feet feel 'loose' again. I missed four days because I was too sick.
Dinner was leftovers. What is new around here? My friend who died at 85 about six years ago told me one day that all they ever ate was leftovers. I don't mind, but it seems that way here, too.
Tomorrow, we will have rice-chicken-broccoli casseroles, each made to our liking. Each little 6"x6" casserole will last for two meals.
It is almost 9 pm, and I am going to bed. So, I will have five or six hours by the middle of the might and be up the rest of the night. Ugh!
Are you afraid of parking decks, especially the top deck?
Is Christmas music on all the time now?
I went gift shopping yesterday and they were playing older Christmas music. It was neat - all the ladies of a certain age were quietly singing along!
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
DeleteShopping to Christmas music is fun. I very quietly sing along, too. Tommy and I sing more loudly in the car. He gets in the mood easily.
I'm not afraid of parking decks but I do really dislike heights so on a high parking deck i'd have to park a long way from the edge.
ReplyDeleteI've just realised you asked what I meant about your storm door and i never replied. I just thought it should be away from the car because I thinkit makes getting in and out quite difficult if you can't open the door very wide. Maybe I didnt express it well, though.
I received your Christmas cards, Thank you :)
They were very fast this year
kylie,
DeleteParking decks always creak and have iron grates in some places instead of solid floor. Tommy had to park right next to the edge! The disabled parking space was right next to the door, so I sucked it up and shut up. Still, the car was buffeted about.
A woman (71) drove right through a parking deck wall and plunged about 5 stories, killing her. It happens more often than I like to hear.
As for the car door and house door there is a long walk from car door to house door and storm door. I have to walk across the driveway to ramp, up ramp about forty feet, across the porch. Then I open storm door that is on the house where the solid house door is. I don't think you understood.
Maybe a storm door in Australia is different from here.
The PO was not fast. I was early so you would get them. I put four different stamps on so you could save them or give to someone who might like them. Maybe a child. I put in two cards, because, why not? I mailed the Christmas cards over a month ago!
I am not afraid of parking decks. Or wind.
ReplyDeleteThere is a radio station near me that plays Christmas music 24 x 7 starting the day after Thanksgiving. It's nice because they play both modern and old-timey tunes. So I get to hear Mariah Carey screeching as well as Bing "Child Beater" Crosby. LOL.
I just bit the bullet and ordered a catered Thanksgiving meal from a local grocery. The last one available, even!
I have been wanting to do it for YEARS, and am very excited! Of course it won't be as good as my home cooking, but everyone will get fed and I won't get stuck with 2 days of prep and a mountain of dirty cookware. That's always the depressing part for me--soooooo many pots and pans.
Sue,
DeleteI am not afraid of wind. I am afraid the wind will blow the car off the parking deck. The wind was buffetting the car so that I worried the wind might pick it up and toss it over.
That will be interesting. Please let us know how it went. I like all the leftovers. Thankfully, Tommy always does the dishes here. Otherwise, it would be depressing to cook at all.
I write this Sunday 24 Nov; I heard christmas music for the first time yesterday. Boo.
ReplyDeleteUrspo,
DeleteEnjoy it. Express your inner child. Think how many children are enjoying looking forward to Christmas!
