Not Much Today

It appears my car has sold (will be) for the $6K Firm I am asking. Mower called and said in about two days, his son would buy it. I hope I have not spoken too soon. Tomorrow, I will change the oil. He will pick it up in two days.

We mailed our ballots today, none too soon. We asked a neighbor to be a witness to our signatures and drove to his house across the street on the way to the PO. Then, we brought bread and milk, drove through the park and home.

There are so many silver SUVs out and about. Every time I get out of the car at a store, I cannot find Tommy. I try to put groceries in different cars. So frustrating. He honks when I am off course.  With the Nissan, I instructed the guy helping me to put it into a police SUV. Guy said, "Are you sure?" He would not open the police SUV even when I insisted.

Do you ever lose your car in the parking lot outside a store? Or anywhere?

    1. One,
Tommy lets me out, then moves the car. It is almost impossible to find him and car. I suppose it is okay as long as we eventually find it.

  2. At Publix, and other stores I go to frequently, I park on the same row. I might have to walk a little farther, but I am ok with that if it means finding my car easily.
I have had to use the lock button on the key fob before to "beep" so I can find it, if I can't remember the exact row (Costco) where I parked.

    1. Anne,
I may have to start using the beeping fob to find the car. Tommy will be in the car, so it might alarm him...lol. I am not sure how I accidentally make it go off when I get in the car at the house. I really hate that beep.

  3. Yes! There are home needs of gray Honda Odysseys in our town. In fact our son has one identical to ours. We were at the park with them and parked next to another identical one. They got on the van and left and our grandson had a meltdown because he thought they had taken his van. He had to be shown inside of theirs to see his car seat and toys to believe that his van was still there. We have to check the tag number to be sure which is ours sometimes.

    1. Lana,
Poor child! I can imagine how he was disturbed to think his car and things were gone. There were so many Rogues on the lot or something dark and similar that I would have to check the license plate. YEH were last three letters. I just checked that.

  4. I text Hubby when I am checking out and he drives up to pick me up.

    1. Chef,
Sometimes, I call Tommy to pick me up. That sure beats either of us from losing the car.

  5. I try to always park in the same general area each time I go to a store. That way I at least know which direction to go when exiting.

    1. Alice,
At one store, Tommy says he will be in his usual place. That helps. I don't park in the same place and can find the car. I suppose when I drive to store myself, I might park in the same place so I will be not so lost.

    4. Back when I worked in sales, drove a company car, and visited 3 or 4 stores, I got into the habit of parking on which ever side of the store the pay phone was located. I like to park near a cart return. This was particularly important when I had to bring in a huge briefcase and laptop.

Now that there are no payphones and I only visit my local stores I have developed the habit of parking in the same general area on each visit to that particular store.

Recently I was about to panic because it appeared that my car had been stolen. I was filled with dread. I tried using the clicker-beep trick and saw a shiny white car respond. It turns out that my son had washed my car and I just didn't recognize it! It hadn't been washed in so long it had taken on tan look and lost it's shine.

    5. Janet,
Parking in the same area does not work when riding in a cart. I still cannot see over the cars.
With payphones gone, you need another landmark...lol.
That is so funny! That would have been embarrassing to call police to find a clean car.

  6. Linda, I do not understand what you were saying.

See over cars? If you are parked in the same general area as you normally do you can click the remote and not only get a light but a beep as well

    1. Janet,
Once I am sitting down in the cart, I am too short to see the car. But, Tommy parks the car after he lets me out. So, I have no idea where he is parked. We just got a remote that beeps, so I am not accustomed to that yet. He might have a heart attack if I beeped and he was not expecting it...lol. I will ask.

Okay, hoping the annoyances have gone away.
