It is the fact that stores throw it in the dumpster because it is not pretty, not that it is bad/ rotten or gone off!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14991571309786149363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3321084510373631678.post-36834513105423728452012-05-17T09:24:40.189-05:002012-05-17T09:24:40.189-05:00Forest,
We are so far removed from even a hundred ...Forest,
We are so far removed from even a hundred years ago as far excess that we would not ever willingly go back to that level of consumerism. Most people will have to be forced by some external force to reduce their actions. I try!

LindaM,
Yes, I have to believe that my efforts somehow pay off. I am willing to eat what others don't. I don't have low standards in food. But, I like the overripe banana and don't mind cutting bruises off apples. Most of the food waste is perfectly edible--safe and nutritious and not past its prime.

Anon,
Thank you.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14991571309786149363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3321084510373631678.post-21026476826251259012012-05-17T07:28:15.740-05:002012-05-17T07:28:15.740-05:00No easy answers. Or you and I stop eating them but several million others do not.
We do our best in ways that seem to make a difference.....but do they? I have to believe that it matters.

BTW...you got an award waiting over at my blog.LindaMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03624659670781181099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3321084510373631678.post-64796425080208658032012-05-17T05:03:19.340-05:002012-05-17T05:03:19.340-05:00It's so tough because we are all used to doing...It's so tough because we are all used to doing everything in excess. Even buying a new t-shirt is excess when you compare it to how the world operated a few thousand years ago. Driving a car any less than 10km isn't really needed but most of us wouldn't flinch at it.

I'm trying to reduce one small action at a time.Foresthttp://frugalzeitgeist.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3321084510373631678.post-45697166543505821032012-05-17T04:18:44.166-05:002012-05-17T04:18:44.166-05:00This is a delightful post and very inspiring as we...This is a delightful post and very inspiring as well.

wimmeraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3321084510373631678.post-66865414111645394252012-05-16T20:05:33.255-05:002012-05-16T20:05:33.255-05:00Mark,
